I would 'highly' recommend reading "A World Undone" by G.J. Meyers. Best one volume book on WWI I have ever read. It also is very readable, unbiased and comprehensive. I find Guns of August dated, extremely one-sided and of course only covers the opening of the war. Tuchman does write very well though.

So I'm also enjoying CTGW right now because it's so much easier to fire up and get moving along without having to re-study up on a lot of details. They're on different ends of the difficulty spectrum and I like them both for their individual strengths. Especially CTGW's AI opponent - nice work guys! [8D]
