The xmas sale has started. So I went to get my $15 credit to buy the game and the offer has expired!

I recall when ATG came out and the offer was made. It was stated then that it might end sometime but not to worry. There would be an announcement ahead of time. So where is it? Now I feel cheated. [:@]

On the ATG product page it has this:

Owners of Advanced Tactics: World War II: Use this link to receive a $15 discount off of Advanced Tactics: Gold!

So I pressed the link and there was a page that said the offer had expired. When the offer came out, there was no expiration date and, to the best of my knowledge, none has ever been announced.

Hi rich,

I personally asked Matrix a few months ago to remove the $15 discount and just asked them to remove the non-working discount link as well.

Sorry if you feel cheated, but there is nothing to be done about it anymore.. Next time i do something like this I will post of it in advance on the forums.

On the other hand if you buy now with the 35% christmas reduction the effect is more or less the same and I doubt the christmas reduction and $15 discount would have been offered in tandem.

Last year the two were offered together. The net cost was $15. But I continued with the original instead.

Was ready to purchase this year but doubt if I want to pay $25 when it will mean only nicer graphics and a few more options for the random games. At this point I'd rather spend the $25 on extras for my Scourge of War game. My game buying money is limited to only so much a month. Sorry, by discontinuing the offer it looks like we will both lose out.

Don't feel too bad Vic, you lost less in that exchange. Many of us have expressed the feeling that you are already insufficiently compensated for your work here.
I feel offended for you. rich12545 loses the chance to play the best game in the world and you lose one customer who doesn't even wish to pay full price for your product. :-)

I already paid full price for Advanced Tactics WW2. The $15 credit was available for ATG because of that and a lot of people took advantage of it when they bought ATG. I'm objecting because the credit was discontinued without notice contrary to what Matrix Games promised at the time. Commenting about something which you know nothing about just shows your ignorance.

No, you acted offended because of something you were ignorant about. Calling you stupid was simply accurate observation. You obviously knew nothing about the offer to owners of the previous AT version. When ATG came out it was offered and everybody, including me, though it was fair. And a lot of people took advantage of it. But it was before your time. You were ignorant of what had transpired, made some incorredt assumptions, and acted like a moron.

Watch my lips. I already paid full price for Advanced Tactics. I was objecting to a broken promise by Matrix Games. I wan NOT objecting to the cost of the game. Next time you should ask before making incorrect assumptions and looking stupid.

Sorry, this is all about money. And there's nothing wrong with that... But there's nothing ignorant with Meanfcker... He seems observant, and not stupid in anyway.

He said I don't want to pay full price for the game. Well, I already did. He should have known that by my posts.

I explained why I doubt if I want to pay $25 but you cut that from the quote in your post. That makes you dishonest.

This thread is about a broken promise by Matrix Games. They promised to give notice before discontinuing the rebate offer. They didn't. It's not about the cost of the game. You just made a dishonest post by using incomplete quotes to make it look like something other than it is. Nice going.

Well $15 dollars is 15$ dollars in context I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars (actually pounds in my case even worse) on games that are not worth the money ATG happens to be worth the money. I guess you are talking about the principle of it all well we all get indignant from time to time. On the plus side I always hope that money placed in a promising franchise is money well spent and I am willing to invest money in that franchise. I do so because I am not able to produce these games myself. And Vic is very approachable after all he answered your inquiry himself fairly rare in gaming circles.

As to the accusation that mean is stupid I would love to see you prove that by defeating him in a game of ATG you may regret your hasty words.

Gawd, this forum is full of idiots.

I made a simple post that I wasn't happy about Matrix Games breaking a promise. Vic answered and I was satisfied with his response. That was the end of it. Or so I thought.

Then the idiots came out of the woodwork. Are there any more? C'mon. Three is hardly enough.

I have the original Advanced Tactics. I paid full price for it, $40. When OTG came out, there was a rebate offer of $15 for owners of the original game. They gave no expiration date but PROMISED there would be plenty of notice before that offer was cancelled. They then cancelled the offer with ZERO notice. I'm not happy about that. But it's not the end of the world. Vic gave a reasonable explanation and I'm satisfied with it. I might even still upgrade if my budget permits but there are other games I want to buy as well.

That's the story. I wrote it out nice and simple so you idiots can understand it.

I'm not complaining about $15. You're such a dumbass you don't get it even though I said that several times.

I complained because Matrix Games broke a promise to give advance warning to any cancellation of the rebate offer. However, Vic explained and I accepted his answer.

How can you be so incredibly stupid not able to understand a simple concept?
