Static -> Forums giving me "Database Error" messages when i try to reply to my DAR thread!?!?!? (12/18/2002 9:15:44 AM)

what's going on?

When i try to post my new turn on the DAR/AAR forums to continue my PBEM game with Gary Tatro...Exporer goes to a blank white screen and the title bar reads "Matrix Games Forums Database Error" ??? I've tried deleting my cookies and signing on and off the forums a few times but nothing seems to work.... Am i the victim of arcane voodoo spells and curses? :eek:

Try replying to this thread or that thread without the file. I replied in it with a test with no problem. Bad Carma I guess. How big is the file? Someone else also claimed to have prblems posting attachments.

Orzel Bialy -> That Someone was ME!!! (12/18/2002 10:50:12 AM)

I seem to be able to post zip files as long as they are under 300kb in size...anything over that just times out and never posts the thread. :(

Capt. Pixel -> Me too (12/21/2002 12:42:30 PM)

Although my post was closer to 800Mb. But it wasn't a problem before. :confused:

i figured it was because i was trying to post PBEM turns for the H2H stalingrad level (the 60 turn masterpiece by jess)....and they were over 1mb

so that explains the crashing

oh well....live and learn ;) :D

Belisarius -> (12/21/2002 6:00:17 PM)

Hmm... we posted Stalingrad PBEM's without troubles... :confused: :confused: :cool: (3)

Supervisor -> (12/22/2002 12:04:28 AM)

The upload limit has always hovered around 500kb(for normal users), but when the file is too large it shouldn't crash what should happen is the thread/reply will get posted without the attachment. I'm still waiting on word from David Heath on some of the forum changes as the other administrators said they haven't altered anything.:confused: :confused: :confused: (3)

TheOverlord -> zip size (12/22/2002 4:12:23 AM)

I am having trouble posting as well - zip is 636kb and it wouldnt take - got the blank white screen.

Orzel Bialy -> Join the Party... (12/22/2002 4:54:57 AM)

of those who have experienced the "White Screen To Nowhere"! :confused: :(

TheOverlord -> Party? (12/22/2002 7:53:36 AM)

Whos got the beer?

I have a keg of Heffe Weissen Bier in my Tiger!
(Always keep the kegs IN the AFV's)

stevemk1a -> "Wet Stowage" (12/22/2002 9:14:46 AM)

Keeping the beer with the ammo is wise because any fires will be rapidly extinguished by the foam from punctured kegs ... :)
"Remember men!, Safety First!"

TheOverlord -> foam (12/24/2002 3:13:32 AM)

It is also important to keep a generous supply of beer in the stomachs of the crew since the foam will fizz out of any bullet holes in them, indicating that someone may need some medical attention, or at least another beer.

hahaha

like a "foaming stomach wound" instead of a "sucking chest wound?"

roflmfao

you guys are a trip sometimes...

Supervisor -> (12/24/2002 10:14:42 AM)

Common problem with the new forum version. Upload limits for normal users is ~500kb you might be able to push it to ~600kb but not much more. The white screen of death has been upchanneled to the powers that be. If an attachment is too large the post is still suppose to be posted just minus the oversize attachment.;) 1

TheOverlord -> little zips (12/24/2002 10:54:32 AM)

Only 500 - 600 kbs?
Thats not to friendly for a game over maybe 5000 - 6000 points... :(
Especially if you have to move a bunch of things and the rec file swells!

If it could be bumped up to a max of 700 kbs, I think that should accomodate most of the larger (~10,000 points) battles...at least from what I have seen in my own zip file sizes...

Please, please, please, please please?

You can even keep the smily limit at 3!
