Mean Deviation= η Standard Deviation= σ Probable Error= γ =0.67449 σ So σ = 1.25331 η 50% Zone ρ = (2γ) = 1.3489795 σ Making the substitution you get: 50% Zone ρ = (2γ) = 1.3489795 * 1.25331η =1.69069 η To translate mean deviation to 50% zone the MD (η) must be multiplied by 1.69. Where the 122mm DDR document MD at 1000m shows the scatter is 0.3m x 0.3m this is equivalent to a 50% zone of 0.507m x 0.507m.
