When generating random games for PBM, what are the preferred purchase point ratios for, for example, attack/defend battles?

IIRC Steel Panthers was something like 2:1 for attacking and 2.5:1 for attacking an enemy allowed to purchase field defences. Are there any similar suggested purchase point ratios for PC?

Perhaps some others might chime in, though I had thought along the lines of 1.5-2.0. But I'm not really sure we ever settled on a recommended ratio.
