T_Patch -> Ship Designations (12/3/2012 12:10:55 AM)

I am not sure if anyone is still on to read this thread, but it never hurts to try. My question: is there a way to know the designations of each ship and what their job(s) is/are? AK/AO/PG/DM/...they are many and confusing.

I am good on the main fighting ships (CV,BB,CL,DD, etc), but the smaller ships and ESPECIALLY the trillions of support ships.... what do they carry? What is their job? I wish they had a sheet I could print off with what ship does/carries what on it.

The link below is a good place to start

The abbreviations are on page 160 of the manual. As for what they do they're described in various sections of the manual. Bear in mind WPO has no CS, DMS, or CLAAs, though since the manual has come out they have added an AMC (Armed Merchant Ship) to the mix. There are also Q-ships, but I believe they show up as AKs (because they're sneaky [;)])

The main workhourses are AKs, APs, and TKs. AKs and TKs come in 2 sizes, small and large, while APs come in 3. The exact amount of each size is determined by their nationality.
