Even though I have set automation to only suggest attacks it will always set one of my fleets to attack the enemy homeworld.
I cancel that order and shortly after that order is back. If I put it on manual control it does not happen anymore.
Not sure if that is new in the beta patch.

Hello OverlordCW. Just curious, what are the settings for your fleet that
keeps attacking the homeworld, and the range? It sounds to me that possibly
the fleet is set for 'Attack' instead of 'Defend' and that the fleets range
is wide enough to encompass the distance to reach the enemy homeworld.
{i.e. - Attack - 'Anywhere' or 'Sector')
