morvael -> TOE Overview (1/2/2013 10:50:39 AM)

I have compiled an overview of every TOE in WitE. Data is based on WitE 1.11.02 and available in .xlsx and .ods format.

Column explanation:
ID - TOE's identifier used inside editor
Country - Country to which given TOE belongs
Name - TOE's name (Prefix + Suffix for those using the editor)
First date - first date on which given TOE is available
Last date - last date on which given TOE is available
UpgradeID - if not empty, ID of the TOE to which this TOE will upgrade
Upgrade Name - if not empty, name of the TOE to which this TOE will upgrade
Type - type of the TOE (as seen in Commander's Report filters)
Class - class of the TOE (either Combat or Support, HQs were left out of this file)
Size - unit size
Elite - elite status of the majority of units using this TOE (German) or hardcoded Guards status for certain TOEs (Soviet)
Max CV - maximum CV value (when morale=100, experience=100 and fatigue=0)
Exp CV - expected CV value (based on expected morale on "first date", with experience equal to morale and fatigue equal to 15)
Mrl - expected morale on "first date" (taking all 9.1.3 and 9.2.1 special rules into account)
Men, Guns, AFV - numbers at 100% strength
Elements - number of ground elements at 100% strength
Mot - whether majority of units using this TOE are motorized or not (checked against generic data, 1941, 1942, 1943, and 1944 GC as well as StoB & VtoB) with TOEs of type Armor, Mechanized, Motorized Infantry and SP Artillery always being counted as motorized
Supply (m) - supply needed when motorized
Fuel(m) - fuel needed when motorized
Vehicles (m) - vehicles needed when motorized
Ammo - ammo needed (does not depend on motorized status)
Supply - supply needed when non-motorized
Fuel - fuel needed when non-motorized
Vehicles - vehicles needed when non-motorized
Support - number of Support Squads at 100% strength
Support Need - number of needed Support Squads
Support% - Support/Support Need
ARM Cost - total cost of buildable elements in armament points (automatically produced, like rifle squads)
SUP Cost - total cost of buildable elements in supply points (produced in factories, like tanks)
Total SUP Cost - sum of total cost of buildable elements in supply points (5 ARM = 1 SUP)
Multirole - whether given unit is multirole, that is can switch between being a combat unit or a support unit

I have included both motorized and non-motorized supply need for every TOE, since whether a unit can be either motorized or not does not depend on the TOE.

I hope this data will be useful to everyone trying to assess strengths and weaknesses of their units. I for one now understand that Soviet Mortar Battalions are not that great - they drain more support from the HQ (compared to regiments), which means all the other units are starved of even more support (the Soviets tend to have not enough support in every type of TOE, which results in higher wear&tear losses).

Have fun!

Very nice!!

rlp2 -> RE: TOE Overview (1/3/2013 5:15:59 AM)

Thanks morvael,

Very helpful info. Very good reference.

juret -> RE: TOE Overview (1/3/2013 1:07:10 PM)

very nice ty alot

- anyone know if u can combine any of the soviet arty brigades to arty divisions? , or they stay as X to the end after creation ?

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (1/3/2013 1:10:34 PM)

they stay as X

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (1/4/2013 8:17:57 AM)

Update:

I have greatly increased accuracy of "Exp CV" value, as now the morale used is no longer flat 1942 morale, but is taking all special rules (elite, motorized) and year (based on TOE first date) into account. You can see that morale in Mrl column.

I have also added "Size" column (regiment, brigade, division, corps etc.) and "Mot" column (showing whether units using this TOE are usually motorized).

rlp2 -> RE: TOE Overview (1/4/2013 8:47:54 AM)

Thanks morvael for the enhancements

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (1/4/2013 10:10:47 AM)

Update:

Added elite status information (approximation) to better calculate expected CV (non-elite units no longer get bonus)

turtlefang -> RE: TOE Overview (1/4/2013 10:18:54 PM)

Some very nice work. Appreciate you sharing.

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (1/4/2013 10:36:38 PM)

Some units may show bad values in Elite and/or Motorized columns. It's because that is an approximation from 5 scenarios counting units that have given TOE (and most certainly there are bugs in those scenarios, like non-motorized tank regiments and non-elite Elite Panzergrenadier divisions - which is currently under investigation by people who can make it change).

A hint: The overview is especially good when using autofilter to find out interesting TOEs. Without that it's an overwhelming mass of numbers :-)

Peltonx -> RE: TOE Overview (1/4/2013 11:11:22 PM)

Good stuff thks man

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (1/11/2013 4:25:00 PM)

Updated for full patch 1.6.25.

rlp2 -> RE: TOE Overview (1/12/2013 6:49:03 AM)

Thanks again morvael. Keep up the great work.

Von Weber -> RE: TOE Overview (2/12/2013 10:43:02 AM)

May be I was not enough attentive but I've not found the soviet airbase in the list. Could anyone tell me how many trucks needs the soviet airbase?

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (2/12/2013 10:49:15 AM)

I have included only combat & support units on the lists, so you're right - there is no airbase here (and no HQs). Perhaps you can check this out in the editor by making a 100% ready and supplied airbase. I can't access my code right now to run it and give you the values.

Von Weber -> RE: TOE Overview (2/12/2013 10:59:40 PM)

No problem.[:)] Thanks Morvael, I'll check the editor for sure.

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (3/2/2013 5:40:04 PM)

Updated to 1.6.27, but the main difference is not in the data, but in code improvements - several units had badly detected units size (ex. Army Gun Regiment), which affected morale as well. Also in this release are included HQs and Air Bases. I have tried to mimic the supply/fuel/ammo/vehicle results as shown in the editor, please note they are inconsistent with regular (combat & support) units.

Balou -> RE: TOE Overview (3/2/2013 6:00:02 PM)

Thanks, great stuff.

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (3/2/2013 6:11:05 PM)

Please take note that each air group assigned to an air base increases it's supply requirements. I have not included this as I deal here with units alone.

That's the truth of the truth. When I checked editor the number of trucks used by an airbase could be from 39 to 867 and even more depending of number of airgroups assigned to base as was said above.

This is why it is usually a good idea to keep airbases on rail..

Hi morvael

I can't open the files. I have only office 2003. Is't possible to convert them?

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (3/23/2013 4:48:07 PM)

Either you can install a plugin that opens .ods (there is one for 2007, don't know about 2003), or you can install LibreOffice for free, or you can wait a day or two when I get back to my Office in the office and convert the file for you.

This is fantastic. I'll buy you a drink next time I'm in Poland.

morvael -> RE: TOE Overview (4/24/2013 1:57:05 PM)

I'm glad you like it. I use it as well, good to know what will come online as the game progresses and what are it's strengths and weaknesses.

javats -> RE: TOE Overview (4/24/2013 11:00:51 PM)

outstanding work, thank you very much, very useful for 41-45 [8D]
