Hrothgar -> trouble connecting via TCP/IP (1/3/2013 1:33:54 AM)

I played this over a wireless LAN with my brother. He enjoyed it, and now he has a copy. We have tried to connect over the net to play, but we can't make it work. I tired hosting and sent him my IP address, but he couldn't find the game. We then switched, and he gave me his IP address, which I typed into the box, but I couldn't find his game either.

Anyone have any ideas about a solution?

Not sure but...

Are you both running the same Matrix version of CAW (patches and all)?
Are either of you running a firewall that might be blocking communication(even the built in Windows firewall)?

Yes, we both have v1.02.2 of CAW and I set Windows Firewall to allow the connection. My impression from what I've read is that the Host is the only one who has to worry about the Firewall; however, without having seen my brother's settings, I know that he told me his was set to allow it also.

Comcast fixed me up. I had to enable port-forwarding on my router. I know, it's all Greek to me, but there was a step-by-step explanation of what to do, and I am able to follow instructions, even if I don't have a clue what they mean.

My brother and I started what's turning out to be an extremely bloody Battle of Midway.
Don't know how it will turn out.
