You sound like another little Euro-pinkie. Singing songs and holding hands for peace. Hey! maybe you can tell me. I'm trying to find out why you Euro-dudes like hairy, unshaven women. There has to be a reason! no one will tell me.

So you feel sorry for the widdle terrorists that got blowed away? Socialism has made you soft and lazy. I guess Government hand-outs will do that. Watching the cowardly Al-Qaeda savages die, makes me feel good.

Hey, old-timer, time to go back on the medications...

Unless you are kidding you have some aggression issues... If all you want to do is rant, stay out. The grown ups are trying to have a discussion here...

As for me "loving" terrorists... :rolleyes:

Get a life.

Go back and read your post. You said I’m psychotic and need help. That’s not a flame?

I want to see the savages that killed 3000 people in my country dead, and that’s crazy?

Well I think socialist peace-nick appeasers are the crazy ones. After all it was the hand wringing appeasers in Europe responsible for WW2. Didn’t you Euro’s learn anything from that?

I actually thought you were joking, thats why i put smilies in the post. It seems I was mistaken...

Gloating over the deaths of others is unhealthy, yes.

Now add to that that you do not know who those people are, that then is called "projection", and has more to do with whats inside you than what is actually happening.

I always thought Hitler was the major culprit...

And I believe Europe learnt the hard way that war is just plain and simply BAD in WW2. Something I sometimes wonder if the USA did.

And dont call me a peacenik, thats just ridiculous...

Gloating over the deaths of terrorists is OK. The world is a brighter, happier place each time one of the cowardly civilian killing vermin is sent to hell.

Speaking of Hell, I have to go to bed. (The Old Eagle wrings his hands and claws his face)- THE DREAMS!! THE DREAMS!! MY GOD THE DREAMS!! NOOOOOOOOO!!

I hate to tell you this, since you obviously don't know, but in wartime their are always friendly fire casualties. Always has been, always will be. Ask anybody that's been in one. . I'm surprised you did'nt know that. You should read more.
i'm aware of the concept of friendly fire casualties. i've seen an Apache vid where the gunner strafes the lads getting out of a Bradley that he's just pinged in Desert Storm.

i didn't find that video terribly amusing.

The point is that i think it's odd to gloat over the deaths of unknown people. Like i say, who's word do you have that they're Terrorists?

i'm also quite aware of the fact that US forces caused 40% of UK combat fatalities in the Gulf War. Perhaps there's a lesson to be learnt and an attitude to be re-considered...

For someone so upset and traumatized over showing Al-Qeada getting what they deserve, you seem almost light-hearted and happy over friendly casualties.

Just whose side are you on?

Hitler could have been stopped very early on, if Euro-wags had the spine to do it. But as usual they chose to send in the gullible dim-wit Neville Chamberlain, to secure "Peace in our time!" Euro's always believe that if your "nice" to a dictator, he'll be good and the problem will just go away.

And for the second time in the century, Americans had to die to save Europe. Germany was surrounded by hostile countries, but still America had to save you. And since then, look at the repect we get from countries, who had it not been for U.S. Troops and resolve would have all been part of the Russian Empire.

Oh ****!I meant to reply to Noodleboy.

Actually that stat for the british is a bit disingenius as you could count their KIA's in the Gulf War on both hands,and the friendly fire deaths all resulted from one incident if i'm correct.I bet if you went and researched it friendly fire casualties are on the decrease compared to previous eras.

Europe wanted a re-armed Germany as a buffer against uncle Joe, who was considered the real threat to Europe, not Hitler.

"Niceness" had nothing to do with it, it was just the strategic blunder of the century...

moore4807 -> Europe (1/2/2003 6:20:35 AM)

MSG
your right about the Europe wanting someone to stand up to the budding Soviet regime...
However I think you dont get the point that NO-BODY wanted to do that particular task themselves and when Germany started taking for itself -pretty much it was diplomatic hand wringing until it was too late to stop the tide...Ergo thats what our history teachers and reads tell us -maybe so much propaganda on our side -maybe not...

Friendly fire caused more US casualties than the Iraqis. i think FF reached a peak in WW2 and probably is on the downturn but it can be so much better.

There's got to be systems in place for AFVs and soon for individual soldiers or at least infantry sub-units that can act as IFF.

It's just sheer bloody laziness that causes FF these days. Soldiers not bothering to ID their targets correctly. Look at Mitla Pass, the IDF conducted the MOST complex phase of war namely passage of lines whilst under contact with a whole Battalion without one FF incident. Western Armies should take a harder look at that than they do.

In answer to Old Eagle's comment about my attitudes, i shan't dignify that with an answer.

Maliki -> (1/4/2003 2:57:41 AM)

Yes you're correct that FF incidents could be lessened,though i doubt if it will ever be non-problem.I may be wrong on this point but i thought part of the reason behind the incident with the British troops was the fact that the identifying signal they were broadcasting was misinterpreted.I remember reading somewhere that all units had some kind of friend or foe identifying signal used during the Gulf War,though i may have misunderstood that part.

The only IFF system in use at the time was fluorescent marker panels on top of AFVs.

Twelve years later the only IFF system in use is fluorescent marker panels on top of AFVs..

moore4807 -> maybe easiest IFF but... (1/6/2003 9:26:19 PM)

certainly not the ONLY IFF system in use by the ground military...

its similar to Air to Air IFF IVIS systems.

Maliki -> (1/6/2003 11:48:19 PM)

I thought i could have been wrong on that,its been a long time since i read the article about the incident.
