Would love to know for all the features not used in PiTF if they work or not (including the D switch Cathartes asked about above)?

/D is present in Panthers and works the same way it did before.

For those of us newer, what does /D do?

It's a way to have modified files inside your existing installation of PitF without mixing them up. Essentially you can create a 'new' install inside your PitF main folder with any and all files you modifed, and link to that folder via a new/dedicated .exe shortcut that refers to that folder. I'm far from a tech-savvy user, so someone else might be able to explain better than me. It's very convenient if you want to switch playing between your original game and your modified game.

Great for edited files (mods) to be used without overwriting the original game files and being able to start the original game or mod you want.

Example; Meuse mod on TLD shortcut target = "D:\Games\Matrix Games\Close Combat The Longest Day\CCE.EXE" /D Meuse

/D is a great feature.

When I got WaR, the first order of business is to create "MY" game folder. Because you know I am going to modify something. Even if you just put the small soldier mod into your mod folder, the /D switch is the way to go, because you never have to mess with the installed version of the game.

I did the same with RTW.

Now, if CC could just fix it so when you put a modified graphic file (even outside of its pack file), and the system sees it and uses it, than that would be awesome (for testing), because you don't have to unpack/repack the pack file. [:D]

This is a great idea. Other games allow to put unpacked files that reside inside their main pack files and the game will still read them albeit at incrising load time of the file.

I doubt I'll get the chance to go back to the old versions and add this, but that is the plan for The Blood First -- if a replacement graphic file is found, the game will use it instead of the game's default texture.
