Great looking painting...thanks! I just read about that action in the book Ghost Ship. Takes a really good artist to do those night scenes.

...anyone know what /c and /o mean after some of the rataings?...

edit: i guess they are all /c...

"class", maybe? As in Y3/c = "Yeoman 3rd Class".

Is just guess.

It would be a correct one.

S2 means Seaman 2nd class which would equate with a modern Seaman apprentice. S1 is Seaman (same as today , except it's written as Seaman.No class!). QM is a quartermanster , as it is today.
