dtx -> v2.2 Air units won't receive replacements (12/31/2002 12:34:51 AM)

In V. 2.2, I've found that certain units won't receive replacements, despite the ample availability of supply, extra pilots, baseforce, and replacement aircraft. While this happens for many units, to illustrate, here's a specific example:

The P400 unit that begins at Nomeau won't grow to larger than 7 aircraft. Even when it automatically upgraded to P-39s, it still had just 7. After it upgraded to P39s (which normally would bring it to full strength) it stayed at 7. I moved it away from Nomeau to different airfields to see if it would grow to 24 planes, but it remains stuck at 7 (despite having many many pilots available and all the other necessary stuff). Other units at the airfields will grow to their normal maximum.

Some PBY units also fail to accept replacement aircraft.

Will this be fixed?

Fresh game 2.20 Scenario 17 head to head

Hey! I have been wondering this myself. I have few Zero squadrons that have only few planes in them, inspite there is planes in the replacement pool.

Also for some odd reason a squadron of A5 Claudes has been due to arrive in one day for about two weeks now. However, those planes are practically worthless, so I haven't felt too sorry for that. I did receive other due squadrons normally, so I didn't bother.

However, I have been wondering about the apparent lack of replacements for some of my Zeros. I tried to fly the squadron to Truk, but it didn't help either.

Sounds like these squadrons are fragments of the original full squadrons, in which case they won't take replacements. Could they be planes diverted when a carrier was waxed? That's wat usually creates fragments.

Billbow - I know what you are talking about - However, in my case, none of the problem units are fragments (the P400 starts the scenario at Nomeau and I didn't move it for months). -dtx

Just something I've noticed now and again: sometimes squadrons don't seem to receive replacements if they're on the front line and in a contested area. Could just be perception on my part, but I have noticed that when I move the squadron to a "safe" airfield (Australia), they beef up again really quickly.
