Well she was a figure that will stand out in UK history, but a very divisive figure. It will be an interesting few days.

State funeral a BIG mistake. Churchill was the last Prime Minister given that honour. She is detested by many in the country so the funeral could just become an embarrassment for her family and the country with booing and riots....

As noted in the article, she's not getting a state funeral. Worth noting though that Churchill was also not popular with all; politicians rarely are, but over time the focus tends to be on long-term accomplishments with the importance of current-day bickering fading in importance. Anyway, I think the news has been passed along but expecting a thread about a present day politician to remain free of politics is unrealistic, so I'm locking this up.

I'll just say one thing from a personal standpoint. I'm very glad she was our ally during the Cold War. RIP.
