Mike Solli -> Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:11:13 PM)

I have a new MacBook Pro and I'm trying to figure out how to set up WitP for it, specifically the codes you add to modify it. I'm running Parallels so Windows 7 shows up as a window. I suspect it needs to have the wide screen code but I'm not sure what else. Can anyone help? (It's obvious I have no clue what I'm talking about. [:D])

Terminus -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:32:15 PM)

Have you tried just starting it to see if it explodes?

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:35:52 PM)

Duh, never thought of that. It looks fine but there's an extra inch on the left and right edges of the screen. Should I try widescreen?

Terminus -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:38:42 PM)

That would be my next move, if it were me.

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:38:43 PM)

Do I just put -px -py?

Terminus -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:40:02 PM)

With the number of pixels. You need to figure the resolution of your laptop screen.

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:40:44 PM)

I was afraid you were going to say that. Gotta figure it out.

Terminus -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:42:42 PM)

Mine goes -px1920 -py1080.

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:46:45 PM)

You have a Mac, T?

Terminus -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:47:27 PM)

Nope.

But I assume that since you're running in Parallels, it must be kinda Win 7'ish, no?

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 1:48:56 PM)

It is Windows 7. The HD is partitioned so there's a Mac side and a PC side. Here is what I found:

Supported resolutions: 1280 by 800 (native), 1152 by 720, 1024 by 640, and 800 by 500 pixels at 16:10 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio stretched; 720 by 480 pixels at 3:2 aspect ratio; 720 by 480 pixels at 3:2 aspect ratio stretched

Do -px1280 -py800.

witpqs -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 2:58:49 PM)

And with that resolution you might want to set your Windows Taskbar (the one across the bottom with the icons for what is running, etc.) to "Autohide".

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 3:32:07 PM)

I did set it to autohide. Thanks. Trying -px1280 -py800 now....

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/13/2013 3:40:55 PM)

Hmm, still has about an inch of black on left and right.

Hmm. So how did you get the list of supported resolutions that you posted above? I just fired up my Win8 laptop to make sure I said it right. When at the desktop, right-click on an open area of the desktop. Select 'Screen Resolution'.

Here are the switches I am using on my Win8 laptop. Note that I am using the full resolution in the switch:

"C:\Matrix Games\WITP AE - PBM #1\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -archive -wd -deepColor -px1366 -py768 -fixedArt -noFire -SingleCpuOrders -cpu3

Mike Solli -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/14/2013 2:33:00 AM)

It's working fine. When I get the initial screen, I see the black on the sides. When I open a turn, if fills the entire screen. All is good. Thanks.

wdolson -> RE: Laptop Setup Question (4/14/2013 3:19:20 AM)

Many of the screens like the start up screens are hard set to 1024X768. If you have more screen real estate, you will have black borders. The map is much larger than any screen, so having your resolution set to more than 1024X768 will show you more map.
