Ki45 KAId Upgrade path? (Full Version)

I have made it into 1944 and I am producing Ki45 KAId in hopes of beefing up my night fighter force. However, it looks like I don't get any Ki45 KAId groups in the as renforcement groups and I swear I checked every fighter, fighter-bomber and light bomber group I have and not one of them can upgrade to Ki45 KAId. How do I get this plane in the war? I have been producing Ki45 KAIa but skipped the "b" and "c" models, is this my problem?

At 4/44 you can upgrade 4th and 5th Sentai to KAId Nick, if I'm right they're
the only groups that can do that (if you play PDU=off); both have the same upgrade path:

Somehow I missed those. I have PDU on but still, those are the only groups that upgrade.

I've found another one: you can upgrade also the 53rd Sentai (49 KAIc Nick) that arrives in 1/April/44.
