LOL. How about - Lock n Load, sell the dev rights to a company that wants to make PC wargames a priority!?!

wodin -> RE: More screens (4/24/2013 7:59:35 AM)

Certainly am...;)

If a game looks good I can actually be an asset or try and be one..though I'm sure some developers on here think otherwise..mumbles something and ops.. :)

Frank.Costanzo -> RE: More screens (4/26/2013 3:34:24 PM)

The units in "Surrounded" look like SS units. It seems odd to me that they would only have a 5 morale, which is the same as the front line Russian units. I would have expected maybe a 7 or at a minimum a 6 morale for SS infantry.

The SS in LnL are not supermen. [;)] They do have some special abilities though. Where normal troops are automatically killed if they are meleed while shaken, SS troops will attempt to rally first. Sounds small but it is a big advantage.

Frank.Costanzo -> RE: More screens (4/26/2013 9:29:36 PM)

Fair enough, they were not supermen. Although it is a historical fact that as units, they were fanatical, and since they are historically fanatical units, they tended to take casualties before breaking in comparison to your average squad. If the feature of them having the ability to rally in specific situations is advantage, than I guess that makes a difference. I am not familiar with the LnL system, so maybe morale is part of a dynamic mix that is different than what I am used to seeing in other games.

Frank.Costanzo -> RE: More screens (4/27/2013 1:38:27 PM)

Just another note, even with the rally feature you mentioned, IMO and experience with tactical game, the SS should have a elite morale equal to the guards units, which is 6.

wodin -> RE: More screens (4/27/2013 5:53:04 PM)

I was sure there where no SS units at Stalingrad..

Frank.Costanzo -> RE: More screens (4/27/2013 6:47:09 PM)

No, a little south of there, but this is about the posted screens.

wodin -> RE: More screens (4/27/2013 9:34:43 PM)

Which have SS units.

Frank.Costanzo -> RE: More screens (4/27/2013 10:55:12 PM)

Yes, the screen shot with the SS units. We have all been waiting a long time for this game, and from the previews, I am sure it will not disappoint. Its looks like a fantastic computer version of a small tactics simulation on the eastern front. I could not be happier to see it in these final stages of development. Maybe the screen shot with the SS is not intended to be part of the Stalingrad release. Just throwing in my 2 cents FWIW.[8D]

Ichili -> RE: More screens (4/28/2013 12:24:49 AM)

I think the game includes some scenarios from "Not One Step Back", one of which is Prokhorovka.

Richie61 -> RE: More screens (4/28/2013 7:03:31 PM)

It could and maybe a few from Dark Days of July [:'(]

Boy, really grasping at old memories here, but IIRC the SS in AH SL could auto rally, no need to have a leader stacked with them. Is that the cae with this game ?

No they still need a leader to do a normal rally. And it needs to be an SS leader. Heer leaders can't rally SS troops and vise versa.

Firebri -> RE: More screens (5/3/2013 5:33:47 PM)

I agree with you Wodin. I also believe that no German SS forces fought in Stalingrad.
In the attached image you can see the German units that fought in Stalingrad.
