I live in the United States and I wish to order a couple of DVDs from an Australian location. Being an antique old fart, not ever having FAXed anything or having telephoned Australia, I'm having a brain fart as how to proceed.

This the internet address with the ordering form with a telephone number:

Will some one down there contact them and get me started to buying two of the DVDs.

Any help or advice will definitely be appreciated.

Not in Oz at present but there are few forum members that are...

I checked out the site and it seems that you don't need to fax the order form. You can email the address given with the order form. I'd download the pdf (right click and save). Open in acrobat and fill in the form (File->Get Doc signed), Use the Add Text to fill out your details, save it and then email it to the address supplied.

Or just email the guy direct and see what he wants you to do ...

Make sure the DVD will work in a North American machine as there are different formats

I should have read the add first it a data and not a video DVD

If the DVD is region locked to Australia you can buy a universal DVD player to play it in...

I had tried a couple of emails in the past but got no responses. Thinking back maybe his responses ended up in the SPAM folder that was delete without being examined.

Thanks to all for the advice especially about the regional DVD issue. Are computers regionalized(sic) also?

No. Reading it on a PC might just depend on the software you use. If you run into trouble reading it on your PC with what you already have, then (provided it's not just a corrupt disk!) yell for help and you'll get advice on what software to get to read it.

I am now thinking I will try an Int'l phone call to order. I understand the 011-61 and the number has a leading 7, is that for the Queensland area. At what time should I call to get business hours down there tomorrow (or is it already today).

I guess I should try to update myself to the 21st century if it is not already to late. Believe it or not I wasn't this slow or stupid a few years past. Think it has to do with the copious quantity of beers I consume in my life.[&:]

Nice chart but a little hard to compute with all the plus and minus numbers. It is 7:00AM Sunday here on West Coast (Calif), what is the date and time in Queensland Australia?[:)]

My wife just had a great conversation with my 17-yr old daughter trying to explain what a 'land-line' phone was (even though the one she was referring to was cordless), and the real origin of the word 'dial'. It doesn't seem that long ago when a cordless phone was pretty high-tech...

Speaking of land lines, I tried to call the Australian number today and neither of my cell phone plans allows such calls. Some draw backs to progress
