DrFoxy -> Gotta love the FoW sometimes (1/4/2003 4:53:14 PM)

Heh here I go to register to post this rather amusing anectdote and I relise that I've already regestired for the forums! I go back and search for my nick and I see it was back when SPWaW 5.0 came out!

Anywase check this result out for an AAR. This is early in a Scen 17 game vs the AI. Kates don't like Wildcats I come to notice.

Notice the fact that the early morning Jap strike got mauled and the AAR claims a torp hit on the Lady Lex. Checking the damage on the Lex reveled no damage at all. Oh and the Yorktown has one system and one fire damgae form its bomb hits. I think that Kate that claimed that torp hit has some explaning to do. 'Course so do the Val pilots that claimed multiple bomb hits on the Lex. Lets just hope the 1000lbs I put into the Shoho was legit.

Yep, FOW is great. One of the best things about playing on PC vs board games IMHO.

I played the short scenario that covers goes until late July (#4?) as the US twice before I switched to the Japanese...

Here I had been for two games terrified of all those "Jap Battleships" my planes had been spotting and that HUGE fleet of CAs and those CVs that seemed to be everywhere. :o Now, playing as the IJN, it is a different ballgame. Of course it helps that I am not a naval buff and had only a rough idea of the force balance when I started. :o

FOW is great, but I do find it a bit over the top for my search planes to be continually mistaking allied submarines for anything from AP's to BB's! I do get a sub symbol on the map so apparently they do correct their initial reports.
