I haven't slept since last night

Worst feeling in the world: Its 23rd here but I have to wait for the 24th for Shadows to release :'( and to make things even worse, I have work tomorrow and Saturday

You see, this is why a Christmas release would be perfect. Even at this late stage I am still hoping for a change of mind and a Christmas release.

Well, he hinted at "before noon" eastern US, and that should mean 11:55 or so... It is still quite a few hours until that.

Hi Drillerman,

I'm awake, but the release won't start rolling until the rest of our US staff is in the office at 9AM. It's a fairly complex release because of all the extra promotional setup, so I'd expect it to take an hour or two to go live.

As an aside, would it be best to "fresh" install everything ie; DW-ROTS-Legends-shadows, or just install shadows?

Just install shadows, it should not care about the state of the old Legends.

If you have replaced a lot of things, it could be an idea to do a clean install, though.

The only concern would be any modded files - you may want to back those up if you don't have another copy somewhere.

I hope Shadows brings in lots of new fans so once the eventual modder expansion is released, we can get some great gameplay that no one has thought of yet. Also hopefully it gives Codeforce lots of encouragement for Distant Worlds 2 :)

It's 1412 here in England, but I've been forced into going out with the other half tonight.

I think she knows that as I've spent all week banging on about this game, she won't see me Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

By the way, perfect timing on releasing the game on a bank holiday weekend!!! WOOOOO

Downloaded...but getting error that it doesn't detect RotS or Legends installed...despite the fact I've been playing it all week....trying a reinstall of both RotS and Legends now...and crossing fingers :(

I have run the gold installer, multiple testers have, and I guess it may be your install that is a bit unhealthy. Crossing fingers for your reinstall.

No luck...going to try D/L the entire series and reinstalling I guess :(


edit: went back, d/l the original DW beta patch 1.07 (or whichever was showing), then reinstalled both expansions, and now shadows recognizes it. All is good :)

Please make sure you turn off anti-virus/security software if you have any installation issues. Depending on their settings, they could prevent the installer from properly locating the previous games.

No, not using default location, but all is well :)

To bad it's so noisy out here (lovely followup to the tornado this week...a week full of severe thunderstorms), or I'd stream this on twitch and try to bring some attention to this game!)
