How can you compare this game to that of Rome 2 Total War?

That is £34.99 for the game, and each DLC, which will include very, very little, will be £5 a pop.

Actually the Steam pre-order price is £44.99, although no doubt box copies will be available cheaper. You do get the first set of DLC free with that though. Whoopee.

Not sure TW is the best example regarding DLC, though, although I take the point. There's been substantial stuff like Peninsular War and Rise of the Samurai, as well as the fluff. Same with the Paradox games.

I Think the most important fact about all price threads from people who have not bought the game yet is the lack of whining from people who did.

You do seem to be missing a couple of obvious points.

First, those 'whining' who have not bought the game are almost certain to remain those who have not bought the game. While that might bring a warm, cosy glow to your heart it won't do SMA (Slitherene/Matrix/Ageod) any good.

Second, those of us who have paid up regardless and still dare 'whine' about price have already made a conscious decision that, to us, the product is probably 'worth' the asking price - although of course nobody wants to pay more than they have to. Such posts are actually usually concerned with what would benefit SMA rather than its actual and potential customers (even if they often don't see it that way, either!).

I really don't see how anybody can consider the pricing policy of DW, particularly prior to the temporary discount, as being unworthy of challenge (even if they accept some or all of SMA's arguments for it), not least because of the vast diverge from industry norms. DW may be an unusually complex 4X and may even be the best 4X currently available, but does that justify the pricing model? Unlike such stand-out games as WitP and Command Ops, DW has to compete within an increasingly crowded and increasingly mainstream genre.

Maybe i'm not the only one missing the Point.
My Point was that since no on who has bought the game is screaming bloody murder and demands a refund that should tell the people who can't see past the buying cost that the game is worth the asking price for those taking the leap.

As Always everyone got their own limit and yes we all want it cheaper.

$87.5 isn't bad considering the expansions. :)

(Damn the VAT!)

But $95.3 after currency conversion ... WTF?

Regardless, I for one am happy to see the base game at $20 (before VAT), which is a much more reasonable price (IMO). At that price I will probably pick up the base game and RotS (and maybe Legends), so thank you to the people involved.

If you can, get legends as well...to me this made the game a lot better again.
