It replaces leaders too often!

I usually play as monarchy (that rarely replaces leaders) for RP reasons...

Then as I switch to Way of Ancients, there is a elections fest it seems, and I keep losing very nice leaders (the one that came from monarchy for example had about 7 positive traits, and several stats +50% =D)

It is so frequent, that maybe sometimes is better to NOT change the government, beacause the leader bonuses is better, but this really bothers me :(

mod the game.
you also can turn of election completely(if leader die,no more leaders tho)

There is no modding for leadership change times for governments

I do agree with the topic that leader changes are too fast for BAD governments and Pirates.

IIRC you can mod the probability of leaders being replaced, just like you can mod the probability of other characters appearing...it is in the race file for each race.

You won't completely eliminate the elections, but it should at least slow it down some.

I personally like the election feature, fresh blood at the helm is exciting and I think it adds to the realism (political leaders very rarely stay in power for life in even remotely democratic regimes).
However, as an avid modder of political systems in games, I deeply regret we have no option to edit them in Distant Worlds. If there is a pool of most wanted features, this would be my prime candidate (apart from editing the Galactopedia).

I usually play as a emperor or osmething like that, I should not have elections unless the leader die or something...

Also, never the AI killed my leader except on a game I was going to lose anyway.

So, how I mod the game so it stops replacing leaders like crazy??? Even better if I can somehow make it stop giving me ****ty leaders on start (several games I started with leaders that have 3 or 4 negative traits O.o for example one particularly remarkable game the guy was corrupt, drunk, disorganized and labor oriented)

From what I learned, there is no way to modify political systems, including election frequency. Would be nice if someone confirmed it, though.
But frankly, if you don't like elections (and the possibility of political change), why not stick to dictatorship? :) (I know Way of the Ancients is tempting, but well - it's some form of democracy, so take it or leave it.)
