05Angels -> Saved games have dissapeared after patch (5/29/2013 5:04:29 AM)

Hello, each of the small updates for Shadows have caused my saved game file to vanish. Can anyone tell me where to look for it?

they are there. Every patch of DW creates a new subfolder identified by the patch version... when you want to load your old game, after the loading window appears, go up one directory level and you will see the different folders for each version, go to the folder of the version with which you saved your last game, and inside it you will find your old savegame.

You are welcome.

User/[User Name]/AppData/Roaming/Code Force limited/Distant Worlds/1.9.0.1/SavedGames

Or even more foolproof;

%appdata%/Code Force limited/Distant Worlds/

(%appdata% always refers to the roaming folder associated to your user account)

Yea, one of the little annoyances of the way the game is programmed ;) lol

I do wonder if it is possible to have the patch detect the current version installed and use that to auto rename the roaming folder used to match the current patch number, that way settings and saves are easier to find for the not-so technical minded players (ie. those who don't already know how to get their old saves back)

Thanks for the help, all is right in the universe once again. Hopefully playing with the old save will not cause issues.
