Falokis -> Suggestion for templates (5/30/2013 4:25:18 AM)

Add the following options to templates, if possible:

vs stronger opponents
vs weaker oppoenents
invasion
flee when

I don't know about everyone else, but I use several different stances based on the ship and design. I hope this is possible. If so, I think templates will be amazing once bombard weapons get fixed. Using a single base option in policy is pretty shallow.

Agreed.

I was hoping to see this in the new patch notes. Is this even possible to add into the new template system?

With a bit of work from the devs sure it's possible. But I guess it's on a list with a million other wish list items.
I put this wish in quite a while ago btw, I think getting the game working as designed is just top priority right now.

It would add some flava to races :D

It would be great if you could set these options by fleet instead of by ship design. For example, you might want your cruisers to standoff against an enemy fleet in some situations and to get point blank and capture ships in other situations.

I'd prefer to make these decisions manually instead of trusting the AI to determine whether an enemy is stronger.

It would be great for the AI races though, so they can effectively use a missile boat while keeping at range while their heavily armored railgun ships close in for the kill.
