LordOfChange -> Super annoying resource bug (6/5/2013 9:13:01 PM)

Hi, i have this bug with the steel resource that is ruining my game.

For some reason theres a system that have a never ending demand for the steel resource. Its taking basicly all my freighters and its starving everything else. the only difference i can think of here is that it was a pirate owned colony i invaded. Im uploading a picture as an attachement, would upload the save and another screen showing all freighters targeting that system, but theres a limit on one attachement?

The picture i am uploading shows the insane steel demand for my empire, and right now theres 1,7 million items of steel at the colony.

I am playing tha 1.9.0.4 patch and have that from the start i think.

Are you trading with other empires? If they're buying all your steal, you might want to impose trade sanctions.

LordOfChange -> RE: Super annoying resource bug (6/6/2013 7:50:32 AM)

Im sure other empires are not buying, half my freighters are buying from other empires and moving them to that planet. As i mentioned in the first thread is that theres 1,7 million steel items at the colony, and very few of those are set as reserved for something. As it is now i can not play that game anymore, because the whole game is ruined now that no other colonies gets the resources it needs. almost my whole fleet have been in stardocks for retrofitting without getting it done, and i have moved a couple techs ahead since i started that retrofit.

So, if I understand you - the problem you're having is prioritization of civilian freighters to where it's needed?

This isn't happening, so your refits are being delayed; resources aren't going where they are needed?

LordOfChange -> RE: Super annoying resource bug (6/6/2013 9:24:43 AM)

No, the problem i am having is that i have a planet that needs an endless amount of steel, so 80% of my freighters are moving steel to that planet for no reason. If you look at the attachement in the first post, you can see that my empires demand for steel is 300000K, even more than the galaxies demand for steel. So since all my freighters are moving this steel over and over again, none of my other colonies or ports are getting the resources thats needed. theres is nothing getting builded in that system, and it has stockpiled 1,7million steel there and that number is constantly going up.

Kayoz -> RE: Super annoying resource bug (6/6/2013 10:12:56 AM)

Aah - it's a balance issue. I thought it was a crappy freighter prioritization issue, which has been a problem (though less crap with 1.9.0.4).

To really examine it, Erik is going to need to take a close look at how the numbers are determined - a spreadsheet, for example. But given the beta testing thoroughness - I wouldn't lay odds that against it being the first time the numbers get examined.

The correct thing to do is to upload a save game with this, and hopefully Elliot can prevent it happening (this bad) again.

How can i upload a savegame? attachements here have a cap of 10mb, and it does not accept save file types?

See this sticky:

I have now uploaded the save game. Take a look at steel demand and where almost every freighter goes to, you can't miss it. This is a 1.9.0.4 patch game, have not tested with the new 1.9.0.5 that came just now yet.
