Please also accept my sympathy. I think I know what what you are experiencing, as my father died of Aspestosis ( A form of lung cancer) 1&1/2 years ago.

Bill, The soul of your son is now in other plane, of Light, with God.He is now in peace,watching you and all loved ones. Be strong!

Nikademus -> (2/19/2001 2:22:00 PM)

Death, what an ironic thing it is to be confronted by, when so often in the subject of our passion, it is a commonplace thing. It makes me ashamed sometimes to have my interest in military history. Only the fact that 'to remember' is a valid and even vital point is there some vindication lest those to who confict was anything but a game be in vain. It does'nt help. Words dont help, but one must try anyway. Please accept my most sincere condolences WB.

Thornado -> (2/19/2001 4:07:00 PM)

My deepest condolenses to you Wild Bill. There seems to be something wrong with the world when a father outlives his son. Be assured he's in a better place now ------------------ Thornado - You'll never know what hit you -

Yogi Yohan -> (2/19/2001 4:32:00 PM)

My condoleances to your daughter, her children and yourself. Your son in laws suffering is over, but not yours. The dead, they are in a better place, but the rest of us have to go on without them. This is what really makes death a tragedy. I will pray for you all.

Recon_slith -> (2/19/2001 6:14:00 PM)

Although I do not believe in god and find little of worth in religion, the prospect of death is all the more tragic for that. My best wishes are with you. ------------------ Reality sucks, but it's all we have. Recon

Larry Holt -> (2/19/2001 9:27:00 PM)

Bill, I'm just catching up on the boards and I'm very sorry to hear of this. Its difficult but we must try to remember that a person is not their physical part but the interaction of what they gave us and what we were able to give them. That remains with us long after the body has departed and in that manner, they remain with us. Larry

Dear Bill, is in these moments that I feel something which holds all of us like members of the same family...day after day I spent a little of my time here reading posts hearing about new features of the game of my dreams, meeting people from each country , sharing the same interests as me , and always you Bill are here among us not leaving us alone...now life is prooving you and your relatives with these unbereable burdens and we have to find a reason for what we have not the power of change...death is our best call for life..no other can understand this since he is not involved in it... May our voices and pray be a little help for you to find the strengh to encourage your daughter to face this terrible trial... A tender hug to Barbara and to you from all of us...since mankind has begun to live many and many times we had to go on , however...

Sir, I rejoice in the fact that your son-in -law is with our Lord. I also would like to share your sorrow of not being able to see a beloved one for a while. But may the Lord be lifted up in all things... [This message has been edited by hhsohn (edited February 19, 2001).]

My sincerest condolences to you and your famaly. Now he's resting in peace but I'm sure that now he's sharing a new life with many other fallen camarades into the Lord's glory. ------------- Senta à Pua!!

Wild Bill -> (2/24/2001 9:36:00 PM)

We returned yesterday from Gate City Va, where David's remains were put to rest. Now the ordeal for my lovely daughter begin in earnest. I want to say that the memorial service was one of the most moving I have ever attended. I had the honor of delivering the message from Luke 15. This was at David's request before his passing. My oldest Son delivered the eulogy and then quoted a favorite poem of David's and Barbara's to Barbara..."My Love is like a red, red Rose." Then two of their favorite songs and it was done. Thanks to all of you for remembering. Wild Bill ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

WW2'er -> (2/24/2001 10:49:00 PM)

Bill, Sounds like it was a beautiful service. Hold on to those scriptural truths and the God behind them as the mourning lessens. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. WW2'er
