Godzilla -> Space Superiority During Planetary Invasion (6/7/2013 7:45:30 PM)

I've only just bought the full bundle of DW so you'll have to excuse me if I'm asking a stupid question! I'm playing my first game with almost everything set to ask for my prompt. This seemed like a good way to learn the basics of the game without having to get too far into the details. It's a lot to take in at one go! During the course of play, I've noticed that my planetary invasions seemed to fail more often than I would expect. The reason for this is that once my fleet has jumped into an enemy system, destroyed any enemy fleet and landed invading troops on a planet, it then jumps away, thereby depriving the ground troops of a +25% advantage for space superiority. This seems ridiculous to me. The fleet should remain in orbit not only to support the troops on the ground, but also to prevent the enemy from landing reinforcements unopposed. Is there a setting that I've not found yet to prevent this?
