Please for everyone's sakes add a slider for how transparent the Empire Navigation Tool is, or just make it a little more opaque in general because I find myself far, far too often having to squint, drag the map around or zoom in and out find a nice empty patch of space so I can properly see what's being displayed without the chaos of the galaxy underneath.
It's quite distracting from strategy, enough to have me alt-tab out of the game and post this because I was getting frustrated with it, and it's not like you can click through it to things underneath or anything, why does it even have transparent panes in the first place?

I'd say that all the "windows" should be more flexible on the Main Screen.
Opacity is a good start. Movability would be even better. An X in Pop-up messages to close.

Font options would help as well, for example the Fleets text under the Empire Navigation Tool items appears to be a narrow font, very hard to read at 1920x1200 on a 24" monitor.

I completely agree with the original poster that an opacity option should be high up on the to-do list.

I've gone to a much darker galaxy background. Largely remedies this problem.

I'll check out that option

Absolutely! I have a very hard time reading the text in this game.

Even worse are some of the color choices (like dark blue on a black background). I have no idea what any of that stuff says, because I can't read it even with squinting.
