if the empire's tech level of the player prewarp, than in the galaxy is not Mechanoid's empire.

Mad Igor -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (6/30/2013 6:41:32 PM)

wrong.

I am playing a game with prewarp, ancient guardians are my neighbors. Do you explore the entire galaxy ?

Fishers of Men -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (6/30/2013 7:53:03 PM)

The Mechanoid Empire reveals their existence at any time there is contact. This can happen in your prewarp period if a Guardian explorer ship visits your homeworld. So you don't need to have discovered hyperspace technology to find out that they are out there somewhere. At that time you might not know where their homeworld is, unless you can steal their territory map, but they do exist in the galaxy.

Ancient Guardians are always close by, never seen them based halfway across the galaxy.

If you turn off the Return of the Shakturi storyline there are no Ancient Guardians, perhaps that's your problem.

Sonic -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (6/30/2013 10:52:52 PM)

I open the game editor, see all galaxy, but their system isn't present anywhere. I tried to reinstall game, but all also. Never was such problem.

Sonic -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (6/30/2013 10:56:17 PM)

Turn on or off Return of the Shakturi storyline is no effect

Mad Igor -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (6/30/2013 11:31:45 PM)

so,you used editor instead actually FIND them, and then report ?i just don't even...
no comments.

Sonic -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (7/1/2013 1:26:54 PM)

In old versions, their system was in begin. Or their appear is regulated by trigger?

Kayoz -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (10/28/2013 11:22:58 AM)

Reproduced. Galaxy has no Guardians present. Pre-warp empire game.

Thanks for the savegame. That game has Return of the Shakturi story events turned off in the game setup - thus you will never see the Ancient Guardians in that game.

Note that in Age of Shadows games when playing as a standard empire (not a pirate) the Ancient Guardians will not be present at the very start of the game. They are revealed once the player achieves hyperdrive tech (assuming Return of the Shakturi storyline is enabled in game setup).

Thanks
Elliot

Weird. I don't recall messing with those options at any point. But I suppose that if I did, I did.

Bebop Cola -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (12/4/2013 8:05:34 PM)

Does the trigger to drop in the Ancient Guardians get flipped if you get Hyperdrive via the editor? I seem to recall in my last game that I use the editor to give myself hyperdrive and I never saw the Ancient Guardians. I figured they'd spawn in later after some plot point, but they never did.

I had all the other Shakturi plot elements, even got the usual "Ancient Guardian warning" message. Of course, that message came from the Zenox. They said they received it from an unknown source. Hadn't found the Shakturi beacon, though, so no Shakturi presence at that point in the game.

btd64 -> RE: No Ancient Guardians (12/5/2013 2:28:31 PM)

I believe you have to search for and develope Hyperdrive, then start exploring before the Ancient Guardians will appear. If you get hyperdrive via the editor, it may not click the switch.
