It really is a question of which scale and style of gameplay you prefer. Both are excellent games. Germany at War is a spiritual successor to the Panzer General and Panzer Corps style of games, but takes those in a more historical direction. It can be learned easily and played casually for those that prefer the more beer and pretzels wargames, but you do feel that you are fighting within the context of historical orders of battle, historical map and unit scales and historical unit upgrades, as well as a replayable campaign that can take you through Barbarossa with any of the three Army Groups (your choice where you focus). Conflict of Heroes is a great tactical game of WWII combat - very good against the AI with a lot of great scenarios and easy to connect with other wargamers and outstanding when played multiplayer. Regards, - Erik
