VPaulus -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/1/2014 12:42:23 PM)

I'm still in, but I suck. Maybe unconsciously I'm just following the steps of my team in the Portuguese league. :(
Finally, used the wildcard last week.

Encircled -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/2/2014 2:08:38 PM)

Still in, but my brain is continuing to make decisions based on nothing at all. I need to get back to what I was doing at the start of the season!

warspite1 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/8/2014 3:37:27 PM)

I feel like crying [:(]. I debated swapping Suarez for Hazard as my captain this morning - but chickened out... what a schmuck....

warspite1 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/15/2014 7:59:11 PM)

A week off for the FA Cup. May need to consider my second wild card to shake my team up a bit - I am losing ground on Lord of the Ings and Matrix City FC and being caught by Last Post...

warspite1 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/22/2014 3:56:43 PM)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

That's my challenge well and truly de-railed....

I decided to replace Giroud, given his domestic issues...and guess what?

shaddock -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/22/2014 4:17:31 PM)

HAHA that's what you get for betting against Arsenal players!

Orm -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (2/25/2014 6:08:57 PM)

Edit: I have yet to log in since X-mas. No idea what has happened. [:D]

Frido1207 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/2/2014 5:28:08 PM)

Great. My gamble to not give Suarez the captains armbind didnīt paid out.

Lucky Warspite. Tottenham wins and Adebayor comes up empty. [:@]

Ha, didnīt noticed that. But hey, its a close battle between you, mike and me. Hope this will last until the final gameday. And I still hope that we are getting closer to Richard for even more excitement and drama. [:)]

Yes he was getting away but the last few weeks has seen us three edge a little closer. Good fun! [:)]

warspite1 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/3/2014 9:13:12 PM)

By the way, have you seen the German football strip for the World Cup? Noooooooooo! What have they done? Where are the black shorts? And what the hell is that red thing on their shirt??

Not happy....

Frido1207 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/3/2014 10:01:50 PM)

Yup, I saw them, inevitable. Iīm not a Designer, so I donīt know what that "red thing" on the chest should symbolize.
I fear they just had to do something "artistic" with the red color. [8|]
The white shorts I like quite a bit. Also its not the first time, that the Nationalmannschaft wore white shorts.

Voila: England 1966:

We both continue to edge (very slowly) toward Encircled!

JeffroK -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/9/2014 10:49:25 AM)

Its weekends like this week that wrecks this game, scraped up enough for Saturday but I dont think I have any players for Sunday!

warspite1

There are no fixtures today - only FA Cup - which does not count. I suspect everyone in our league was caught out by the cup/league this weekend. I had three Liverpool players - nightmare! Had to lose 4 points to get an extra transfer in, otherwise I was only going to have about 4-5 players [8|]

Encircled -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/9/2014 7:20:05 PM)

Only news of any importance this week

Blackburn Rovers 1 Burnley 2

Our first victory over our rivals for 34 years! Thats 34 years! As I'm 41 that means its the first time I've ever seen us beat them.

It has to be said that I'm smashed![:)]

Orm -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/9/2014 7:24:12 PM)

Cheers Richard! [sm=00000436.gif]
[sm=character0272.gif][sm=character0272.gif][sm=character0272.gif][sm=character0272.gif]

That calls for a celebration!

Yes I saw that - good stuff. With QPR having caught the wobbles there has to be a good chance of automatic promotion back to the premiership. I've got my fingers crossed [:)]

warspite1

The Wobbles - an attack of the nerves, loss of form, loss of confidence, playing like Tottenham - call it want you want but it all means the same thing - they are struggling to win games all of a sudden.

warspite1 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/17/2014 9:00:41 AM)

Encircled is getting away again [:@]. Not long to go now....

Frido1207 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/17/2014 7:11:23 PM)

I think there is only the competition left, who will be the first loser. [:D]

Might have to take a point hit this DGW. [:@]

Just to clarify the rules:
if I start a player that has only one game this weekend, I wouldnīt get points from a substitute, who plays twice? (E.g. starting Czech on Sat/Sun, I will not get points from Mannone on Wed. ?)

Mmmm good question! I am afraid I do not know the answer [&:]

Frido1207 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/17/2014 10:21:09 PM)

To my understanding the DGW counts as a single GW in terms of the fantasy league.

Therefore only players with two game appearances in GW 31 can gain points on both games.

All players with just one game will not be replaced.

So for instance, if I start with Czech, I will only get points for the game against Arsenal. If I start Mannone, I would get points for both games.

Hope that makes sense.

Damn - I've been caught out again... I Do not have enough transfers to ensure I get a full team of 11 players playing both games. Thanks for the tip-off though [:)]

warspite1 -> RE: Fantasy Football (Soccer) I mean Free Cookies (3/22/2014 7:26:42 AM)

Got to say - great performance from terje who started a couple of weeks behind everyone else and is climbing the table [&o]

Good luck with van Wolfwinkel... in his previous team, Sporting CP, he missed more that he would actually score. [:'(]

He's going to be great this season. [;)] His time at Sporting was just practice [:D]

Dixie, may I politely remind you of this comment? [:D][:D][:D]

My Team for the week, at the moment, subject to late change:

de Gea,

Evra, Hangeland, Ivanovic, Johnson(Liv)

Mata, Gerrard(vc), Routledge, Colback

van Persie(c), Lambert

Bench Davis(gk) Johnson(Eve), Chico, Naismith
warspite1

Mmmmm Man Utd players remain severely lacking in my team.... One thing David Moyes did at Everton was make them hard to beat so having two United defenders may be a good idea.....

Still concerned I should be going with van Persie... thanks alot JeffK you've just made it a whole lot harder to decide again [;)]

Back to the drawing board.....

warspite1

..and in the interests of fairness, I will remind myself of this little gem.....[;)]
