If I move my infantry to a hex that is on fire, do my troops get suppressed by the fire or does it just ignore it?

They take suppression from the fire.

BEWARE the fire!!

I was just playing H2H, Long WWII, Japan, and I had a Cavalry unit get stuck in fire. I could rally it down to 1, but there were 3 men left, and for whatever reason those three guys would rather sit there in the fire under "retreat" status.

On second thought, I probably shouldn't have rallied them every turn. Eventually, the AI would probably have given them fleeing movement points.
