Don -> SPWAW TACTICAL TRAINING CENTER now open! (2/24/2001 12:41:00 PM)

Thanks to Bonzo's great efforts, 8 tutorials are now available as a package, and 3 are available individually. Go to http://nwbattalion.tripod.com/main.html which is Bonzo's Main Page. Scroll to the bottom and find the graphic for the "SPWAW TACTICAL TRAINING SCHOOL" and click on it. You'll go to the tutorials main page and be able to download from there. Thanks to all the talented desugners who made this possible, and to Bonzo for posting them. More will be available when Bonzo has time to update - when he gets done now there will be 9 tutorials and a page describing how to install scenarios. Don Llewellyn

COngrats to Don, Bonzo and this fine tutorial team. These scenarios are worth having guys. A lot of work went into them. Especially for the newer at this game..WB ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

I've been playing SPWaW on a daily basis since last September or so. Maybe I'll finally learn how to lay mines using engineers, and other little techniques I've missed along the way. Really glad to see this!

Supervisor -> (2/25/2001 8:56:00 AM)

Will these work in ver 5 when it's released or will SPWAW ver 5 have new ones already incorperated to take advantage of what ever OOB's changes are made. Thanks for all the hard work, looking forward to learn the proper techniques that I've previously overlooked.

Don -> (2/25/2001 9:02:00 AM)

Believe me, gmenfan, these will work and be included in 5.0. I will make sure each one works in 5.0 before I submit them to WB for inclusion. If the ones on the website do not work correctly in 5.0, we will just replaced them with updated copies. And REMF, too bad I don't have a tutorial about using exit-hexes! The site is excellent! Great job! Are you going to put campaigns in there also? Bruce Semper Fi

Don -> (2/25/2001 11:17:00 AM)

I think Bonzo is planning to have CL campaigns - I don't know about SPWAW stuff. ------------------ Don "Sapper" Llewellyn, Coordinator SPWAW Tactical Training Center http://nwbattalion.tripod.com/spwawttc/ttcmain.html EMAIL: egcwman@mindspring.com

Bonzo -> (2/25/2001 12:16:00 PM)

We already have The Depot, Fabio's & Tankhead's sites carrying SPWAW maps, scenarios & campaigns. I feel that they are providing fine service, so where could I improve? The Training Center was something that I (& many others) thought about for a long time & is a good fit with my site. I hope that a Training Center for Combat Leader and future games will also emerge as we learn to fight in these new environments & have lessons to pass on. These I would also like to host with the help of knowledgable content coordinators, like Don. I will also be looking to post maps, scenarios & campaigns for CL & future Matrix games if such become available. ------------------ Robert (Bonzo) Lindsay, Coordinator 28th (North-west) Battalion Headquarters Main http://nwbattalion.tripod.com E-mail nwbattalion@icqmail.com

Don, Great work on the STTC. I have a suggestion for the Tutorial #5 "Blowing the Bunker" section. You mention that we should "Now surround the bunker from the sides and rear." How about adding something to help the new guys figure out what hexes are the side & rear, as opposed to those in the front (in the LOS). Now quit laughing. We all made this mistake plenty of times. - some graphics are obscure enough that we can't see which end has the gun sticking out. - "On the Bunker" hex is not the same as on top of the bunker; which is where most GI's would naturally go to be immune from fire while lighting the fuse. In the same hex as a bunker is being in front of the bunker's firing slit. Sort of like standing in front of the guns, turn around and drop your pants! - How to determine the cone shaped LOS in front of the bunker ... the DANGER ZONE. forgive the ascii art: B=bunker x= LOS hexes ..........x .........xx ........xxx .....Bxxxx ........xxx .........xx ..........x Tommy [This message has been edited by Tommy (edited February 27, 2001).]

Bonzo -> (2/28/2001 12:19:00 PM)

Thank you all for your support. But, due to the overwhelming (and much appreciated) response, Tripod pulled the plug. I will be pursuing my own domain & comercial hosting for my site & will try to have it up by the weekend. I will now go beat my head against the wall, because it feels sooo good when I stop. ------------------ Robert (Bonzo) Lindsay, Coordinator 28th (North-west) Battalion Headquarters Main http://nwbattalion.tripod.com E-mail nwbattalion@icqmail.com

Don -> (2/28/2001 12:29:00 PM)

Be patient with us, 'cruits! Seems we have some growing pains to go through. At least I know you were downloading the tutorials! LOL Look for the Center to be back up soon. ------------------ Don "Sapper" Llewellyn, Coordinator SPWAW Tactical Training Center Which is currently not on the web thanks to Tripod! kptom -> (3/3/2001 1:10:00 AM)

Is the site dowm. Have tried to access the tactical training URL, and I get the good old Tripod "Page not found". Any suggestions?

königstiger -> (3/3/2001 2:26:00 AM)

I have the same problem, page not found...!

Don -> (3/3/2001 4:12:00 AM)

Hi guys, Yep, Tripod pulled Bonzo's site for too many downloads, and he is in the process of getting his own domain name abd setting up his own site. The "Center" should be back up in a few days, plus the tutorials will be included in 5.0. In the meantime, email me and I will send you 4 tutorials to get going with. ------------------ Don "Sapper" Llewellyn, Coordinator SPWAW Tactical Training Center EMAIL: egcwman@mindspring.com
