Anyone knows what the diplomacy character skill does?
It does not reflect anywhere :-?

I swear I've the stats somewhere... I'll keep an eye out for it again. I'd also like to know what the smuggling skills do (ex. Smuggling Evasion) - their bonuses aren't displayed anywhere.

Diplomacy directly affects ambassadors and leaders. In the case of ambassadors, any alien home-world that you send an ambassador too will see an increase in diplomatic relations based on the ambassadors skill level. In the case of a leader with the diplomacy skill, you will see a bonus in relations with all alien empires, and your ambassadors will have additional bonuses...granted that I'm correct in the way it works.

Thanks Shark. But as I said: IT's Not Reflected Anywhere :)

You know, empire relations with you are denoted by a number : +5 , -20 etc
And bellow there it is detailed:
+7 We naturally like you
-15 We compete to control the same colonies
etc

Well, in that list, diplomacy is not listed anywhere.

Could it be that it's integrated in the "naturally likeness" ?

That is because the Diplomacy skill is a modifier...rather than a factor in and of itself. Basically, all of the positives are modified by the ambassadors/leaders diplomacy skill, and the negatives are mitigated by it.

Basically if "We naturally like you +10" is modified by an ambassador with a +10% diplomacy, then you should end up with a "We naturally like you +11".

At least that is how I understand it to work. Without knowing the actual code, it really is just an educated guess.
