Disco Duck -> Project management software (8/31/2013 11:43:57 AM)

I have decided that I need some sort of project management software to keep track of what I am doing. The problem I run into is all of them have the date tied to the computer date.

Any suggestions?

I used to do a lot of project management and I would like to keep my hand in by using this game.

It's not built for project management, but I use OmniOutliner to manage my games, and it's a perfect fit. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, see below. One day I will probably do a write-up of how I use it. It's a Mac program, but I came to it from OneNote, which can do the same thing.

Very Interesting. I will have to look into that.
Thanks

I've been playing around with Swift To Do List for the game about to start with nashvillen and our current one finishes.

I think it was Dr.Hal that posted this program. Task List Guru

I find that three fingers of bourbon in a thick and heavy tumbler make my desire for "project management software" less than pressing on any given evening.

I feel like that normally about March 1943 when I have lost track of my plan and half of my units. Only I go for a drink I had in College. One shot 100 proof vodka, one shot dark rum and one shot 151 proof rum with a squeeze of lime ( have to keep your vitamin C up).

After I sober up I restart the game vowing to keep track of everything this time.

2x3 notepad. I take notes and circle the spots that are critical to remember. I write small so I can fit more onto a page. And I've developed my own shorthand.

Than I misplace the notebook or use it for my grocery list. It is most distressing trying to find CV Akagi off Soerabaja in the local grocery store. Or trying to find Bread and Eggs somewhere on the AE map.[:D]

Just downloaded "task list guru". Looks very helpful so far.

Here's a sample of what I've been using to do the first turn of a PBEM as Japan ...

Is that a panel of toilet paper? Is it two-ply or single-ply? [:D]

It's an 8.5x11 inch sheet folded once, or 5.5 x 8.5. It's actually a scribble sheet that I've used for years to take quick notes. A good way to use the back side of paper that went through the printer but did not produce the desired results.

In reality, anything of importance gets moved to a spreadsheet, but I thought the picture might be entertaining.
