There were invisible gorns in there, shimmying down the sewer pipes to safety.

Tora Tora Tora, even on flat CD, is Da Bomb on my 92" Toshiba.

I also like walking up to John Wayne & looking him in the eye [:D]
warspite1

Lecivius, I hate to cast dispertions upon a man's character, but are you compensating for something?

NO. JUST NO!... But out of curiosity, Pearl Harbour Director's cut good? What did they do? Cut off the first and last hour of the movie?

Gettysburg.

My all time favorite movie ever made, or a Diane Lane movie..either should suffice.

This would be a great possibility as well. Imagine to Cannonade prior to Pickett's Charge...mmmmmm....

You bet it would!

How about "Waterloo" with Rod Steiger?

I was thinking the same thing. Those cavalry charges would be AWESOME on a huge screen!

SqzMyLemon -> RE: OT Movies (10/17/2013 6:47:15 PM)

Just picked up a number of old movies including Zulu Dawn, The Wild Geese and The Final Countdown. I'm trying to get a copy of Stalingrad but a non-dubbed version.

Does anyone know the name of the recent Japanese movie about the Yamato? I'd like to try and track that one down.

I was able to score my copy of "the Admiral" thru Amazon-UK. Couldn't get it in the USA (this was six months ago). Make sure you have a region 0 DVD player if you order from them though.

Dixie -> RE: OT Movies (10/17/2013 7:20:29 PM)

Depends what your preferred type of war movie is.

Das Boot for naval
Battle of Britain for aeroplanes
Band of Brothers for infantry etc

For an alternative, Aces High
