This is for common discussion that both of us can see. We will not be reading each others AARs so discussion that doesn't reveal confidential info can go here so we both can participate.

The first item for common discussion. What do you guys do for screen shot hosting? I am going to need to put up planning shots for strategy discussion. Thanks

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/6/2013 4:55:02 PM)

MediaFire, I found them when looking for somewhere to host films as that's something I do in another game (Aces High) occasionally from historical events, example in my sig hosted on YT. Can't say if MF is what you're looking for, I do believe they have free accounts but with limited bandwidth. These pictures are comparatively small so perhaps the bandwidth limit is no issue.

MediaFire doesn't allow direct links in free accounts so that will not work.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/7/2013 8:22:55 PM)

Find myself camping out in the mailbox again. These PBEM games are a pita for suspension. I want to get 43 over and done with already! lol [:D]

TaggedYa -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/7/2013 9:13:34 PM)

I just finished my Italy raids and popped out to save a screenshot. I have the Email sound alert turned off so I am not jumping in and out. Still need to do night raids and that will take awhile.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/7/2013 10:34:49 PM)

Copy! [>:]

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/9/2013 4:19:35 PM)

Your turn.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/10/2013 2:44:42 PM)

Camping out in the mailbox again ya know. [:D]

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/12/2013 11:24:26 AM)

Still... waiting... [>:]

Hate to bug ya I know you're busy with a lot of stuff but still... send me another round of heavy metal! [:D]

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/13/2013 1:18:44 AM)

Took me about 3 hrs to get through that ordeal. You certainly have the numbers to saturate my air defenses.

TaggedYa -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/13/2013 1:22:20 AM)

Nuts

Took me 15 hours to plan that ordeal. [:D]

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/13/2013 5:51:35 PM)

Well there was nothing wrong with your planning. It was obviously well thought out and the 40k recon flights I can do nothing about.

TaggedYa -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/13/2013 8:19:36 PM)

The problem with 40k recon is it is inaccurate and you get a very high rate of mechanical aborts. Of the 34 recon I flew from England 9 did not get pictures and did not get shot at. That means they turned back for mechanical reasons, usually icing if I understand correctly.

You get a location fix so your bombers can find places but the damage info is poor and the HAA counts are off by large percentages. You get no LAA info at all. Airfield plane counts are lousy or nonexistent also.

I prefer to fly industry recon at 32,500 and airfield at 9000 but with you chasing every single plane that isn't reasonable. Of course I figure it shouldn't be long till you find better things to do with the planes you have left than chasing recon. [:D]

Of course when you get better planes it all starts over again.

Interesting items from the night raid:

I am assuming that with the day off all of your night units were at or close to full strength and so each launch from a camped AF was about 30 AC. I was careful to make sure that they were always covered so every landing had a chance to be intercepted. The pattern is interesting. An average of about 4 out of 30 landings resulted in an attack. The interesting thing is that Beaufighters almost always kill what they attack but mossy2s only get about half and Mossy 12s and 13s only get a quarter. I am pretty sure this is based on gun strength. The Beaufighters have a lot more firepower than the Mosses.

The targeting test was also interesting. Light or dark doesn't seem to have a lot of relevance. I do not understand that. Light level was very important in the old version and I can't see a reason offhand for them to change that.

ELint however is GOD. Flying as a single Squadron raid H2S equipped AC hit dead on (exact pixel) 4 of 7 times and adjacent pixel the other 3. Four of 11 non ELint Squadrons made crop circles missing their target by more than 2 miles, 2 bombed the wrong targets but hit within a mile of their chosen target, and the rest missed the rail yards but hit within 2 miles which is good for terror but not RR damage. Basically, from this I figure if you don't have electronics in this version you better be following someone who does. And if you are bombing by radar you don't need to fly in the moonlight any more.

Hoping for a new turn soon! [:)]

Don't know about soon but this one shouldn't take 3 days. [:)]

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/14/2013 7:39:41 AM)

How about this for building expectations...

Hope we can pick up the pace somewhat in turn rate.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 1:00:54 PM)

Forum crashed did you notice? Some posts are missing and the two latest updates in my AAR disappeared.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 4:35:50 PM)

Any progress on the next turn?

TaggedYa -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 7:28:32 PM)

Nice to know your up. I just sent you the turn.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 10:38:15 PM)

You got me on the edge of my seat this turn. This more than made up for the previous turn, action packed!

TaggedYa -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 10:44:33 PM)

Did I confuse you with the "good you're up" comment? For some reason I got the email notification of your post 12 hours after you made it. I didn't notice the am v pm and thought you had just posted it as I sent the turn.

Turner -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 10:52:28 PM)

Well the forum was down for some time earlier today then came back up with posts missing. I had to repost stuff in my AAR thread. I'm not sure what you're talking about that's how confused I am, plenty of multitasking going on here. Check your AAR thread for missing posts.

I'll have next turn sent your way soon, but that depends on how much more of your scrap metal I have to deal with. You're littering my front lawn with aluminum wreckage and my recycling teams are busy...

TaggedYa -> RE: 43 Grand Campaign AAR - Common (9/16/2013 10:58:06 PM)

I noticed the stuff missing. All my posts for Turn 4 and 5 disappeared so I just did a quick summory off the top of my head.

As to the recycling operation: I hope at least half of it is yours. [:)]
