The problem with 40k recon is it is inaccurate and you get a very high rate of mechanical aborts. Of the 34 recon I flew from England 9 did not get pictures and did not get shot at. That means they turned back for mechanical reasons, usually icing if I understand correctly. You get a location fix so your bombers can find places but the damage info is poor and the HAA counts are off by large percentages. You get no LAA info at all. Airfield plane counts are lousy or nonexistent also. I prefer to fly industry recon at 32,500 and airfield at 9000 but with you chasing every single plane that isn't reasonable. Of course I figure it shouldn't be long till you find better things to do with the planes you have left than chasing recon. [:D] Of course when you get better planes it all starts over again. Interesting items from the night raid: I am assuming that with the day off all of your night units were at or close to full strength and so each launch from a camped AF was about 30 AC. I was careful to make sure that they were always covered so every landing had a chance to be intercepted. The pattern is interesting. An average of about 4 out of 30 landings resulted in an attack. The interesting thing is that Beaufighters almost always kill what they attack but mossy2s only get about half and Mossy 12s and 13s only get a quarter. I am pretty sure this is based on gun strength. The Beaufighters have a lot more firepower than the Mosses. The targeting test was also interesting. Light or dark doesn't seem to have a lot of relevance. I do not understand that. Light level was very important in the old version and I can't see a reason offhand for them to change that. ELint however is GOD. Flying as a single Squadron raid H2S equipped AC hit dead on (exact pixel) 4 of 7 times and adjacent pixel the other 3. Four of 11 non ELint Squadrons made crop circles missing their target by more than 2 miles, 2 bombed the wrong targets but hit within a mile of their chosen target, and the rest missed the rail yards but hit within 2 miles which is good for terror but not RR damage. Basically, from this I figure if you don't have electronics in this version you better be following someone who does. And if you are bombing by radar you don't need to fly in the moonlight any more.
