OK, any ideas folks? I am forty years into a game on hard difficulty. I have access to 16 luxury goods and all strategic goods. I have 12 colonies and peaceful relations with most of the other 17 AI empires. At war with no one. I also have Fair Trade Agreements with 12 other empires, BUT I have zero- ZERO- trade. No foreign ships are coming to my ports (I am in the center of the map). No money in trade whatsoever- none, zip, nada.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

I have noticed this, too. All empires that I have Trade Agreements with show 0k(+20%) on the relations line. If I don't have an agreement, it shows some trade income is happening(ex. 15k). What is going on here?

My situation exactly.
Actually, I've been watching some of the alien systems as well, and they have no trade going on either. The only ships I see stopping at their spaceports are their own...

Hi, I used to have this problem also. Another thing was my cash flow would not update and when my intelligence agents finished a mission, it would not be updated in the character screen that they completed their mission. I managed to fix this by downloading the latest patch. [:)]. Another thing is that before I patched, my private sector ships would not move at all.

Thanks for the suggestion ChillGuru, but I am running the latest patch.

Another strange thing that I noticed is, even though I have imposed trade sanctions on an empire, some trade is still occurring. At first I thought there might be a few purchase orders that are still left to be filled, but I am not sure why this goes on for many game years.

I, also have the latest patch, but did not start a new game after the patch was applied.

Starke -> RE: Zero Trade (9/10/2013 7:36:18 PM)

I think the trade number in the diplomacy screen is a rolling one year average, hence why it doesn't shrink to zero instantly.

Think I'll try an uninstall and re-install. I have all the discs and patches. Patches are cumulative, right? (i.e., the last patch contains all the data of previous patches...) That's correct isn't it?

Jeeze- went to try to uninstall (so I could reinstall) and the game is not listed in the control panel under programs I can uninstall. I truly love this game, but sometimes I think its more trouble than it's worth...[:)]
