Combatengineerjrgmail -> [FIXED] DirectX9c (9/24/2013 6:09:23 PM)

I let the set up perform the check for .Net and DirectX9c. It finished normally. When I try to start it I get message after message about not finding DirectX DLL's etc. Running Diag for Direct X shows that I have Version 11 on my Windows 7 SP1 machine. Can I and should I manually install 9c? I play no other games on the machine so that is not a problem. I found the 9c version on MS site.

What you can try is going to your installation directory and looking at the PreRequisites\directx_mar2009_redist sub-folder. In there you should find dxsetup.exe. Run that and see if that helps please.

Evidently Dx 11 and Dx 9c can co-exist. I found the complete installable .exe file and ran it. DxDiag still says I have Dx11 but the game ran when I started it this time. So there is a bug in the install software that makes it NOT install Dx9c when it is on the machine, most likely because the system reports that Dx 111 is on the machine. Seems that Dx 11 should be backwards compatible.

Erik,

See my post above. I did not see your post when I tried my solution. Sorry.

Glad to hear that resolved it. Yes, they can co-exist. This was on Windows 7 SP1 32-bit or 64-bit?

Regards,

- Erik

Win 7 64bit. I'll attach the DxDiag file that I ran after I installed Dx9c.

Thank you. When you first ran the installer, did you leave .NET and DirectX 9 checked and allow them to install? Just making sure.

Regards,

- Erik

Yes I left them checked and it seemed to install something, it took a couple minutes.
