bretg80 -> Trailer - Wouldn't that be cool in the game (9/28/2013 1:49:42 AM)

I saw the new trailer for the game and while it is very misleading for people who don't know this game, it does show how the game could be improved to make it quite exciting to play. I really believe the devs should consider adding that kind of capability to the game.

I've said it before, music and sound effects really add to the game. That is a cool video. I just wish it was a part of the game.

Agreed!

Even just by starting with the ability to play sounds via the scenario manager as a "action" which could be triggered. The trailer is very exciting, and adding a few voices and radio chatter / music would really add to the excitement of the game!

I agree, plus it would be very helpful for me, as I like to work, and leave the game running in real time, so the sounds would alert me of whats going on while working on my annual report! [:D]

I've just bought the game haven't had chance to play it yet. I agree that the video could be misleading with those effects that were added. I believe though this game has so much more potential that various improvements will be added along the life of the game.

I agree that having certain sounds (such as the various brief voice comms in the video) would add atmosphere.

Then again, it runs the risk of ruining my sense of immersion if it says something stupid and/or out of context. It would be tricky.

But that would be just another element of good (or bad) scenario design. Overall, I'd rather the team focus on squashing bugs (haven't found any so far myself) for the moment, and perhaps add this sort of capability as an optional, extra-cost "Multimedia" add-on (so they are sufficiently motivated lol).
