Sea Monsters make me think there could be biological submarine contact in Generic. Whales or underwater earthquake examples.

I'd suggest the database developers concentrate on finishing the things that are currently in the database before adding further platforms. Right now there's just too many errors and missing things like engines, loadouts and sensors in there. I'm frankly getting a bit tired of developing my scenarios when I have to constantly build around the errors and bugs that are still present.

Are these being identified as you find them?

Worthwhile idea - right now you know that any Goblin you find is effectively going to be a hostile sub. Might be interesting to create something for false positives.

MR_BURNS2 -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/14/2013 2:46:33 AM)

Royal Air Force of Oman

I found some interesting info here: http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/tag/oman-air-force

Hawker Hunter F.73A (most common variant according to source), same as FGA.9 Jordanian Air Force from CWDB.

BAe Hawk Mk.203 (basically same as all Mk.200)

BAC Strikemaster 82 in service until 2000, please copy from CWDB.
The Omani Strikemasters used a lot of 80mm Sura Rockets.
Common loadout was 2 540lb HE Bombs + 16 Sura Rockets, or 32 Sura Rockets. Source: Storm Front (<- Must Read! Smashing story![:)])

[image]http://www.acig.org/artman/uploads/soaf_strikemaster_01.jpg[/image]

There is more data on the aeroflight.co.uk link, but i think those are most important.

You also have a J-22 Orao listed under Oman. I think thats a error, nothing indicates that they ever had any of these.

Priority medium, altough i think about making a 80´s mission for Omani Air Force.

Heh, naturally I saw that immediately after I posted the question.

Mgellis -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/15/2013 4:04:59 AM)

Here's another one, a carrier that may or may not be built for Brazil (but not for France, it seems)...

Porte-Avions 2 (PA2) (Brazil and maybe others)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_French_aircraft_carrier
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/porte-avoins2/
http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/france-steaming-ahead-on-pa2cvf-carrier-project-01621/
Priority: Medium

This is a small, fast littoral combat ship for which a prototype has been built...

M80 Stiletto (United States)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M80_Stiletto
http://www.mshipco.com/military_m80.html
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/m80-stiletto/
Priority: Medium

And a new ship for Iraq's navy...

Saettia MK4 (modified Diciotti Class Patrol Vessel) (Iraq)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diciotti-class_offshore_patrol_vessel
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/saetti-diciotti/

Mgellis -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/17/2013 12:56:31 AM)

Just a thought...

Should this thread be moved to the Mods and Scenarios sub-thread, renamed "DB3000 Platforms Requests," and be stickied like the "Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests" thread? A few platform requests would have to be moved (cut and pasted?) to the other thread, but that way they would both be in the same place. It just makes it easier for people to find it.

Mgellis -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 4:13:04 AM)

Working on a scenario with India and Bangladesh right now, so...

Padma-class patrol vessel (Bangladesh)

Priority: High

USCGC Jarvis (WHEC-725) (Bangladesh, after 2013)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCGC_Jarvis_%28WHEC-725%29

http://bangladeshdefence.blogspot.com/2013/02/bangladesh-navy-large-patrol-vessel-bns.html
Priority: High

BNS Bangabandhu <-- Ulsan-class...looks like there were some changes so a separate sub-class may needed to be added
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BNS_Bangabandhu
Priority: High

Island-class patrol vessel (Bangladesh, after 1994) <-- Were any modifications made? If not, the Island-class is already in the database.

Wow okay that was supposed to be rOMANia, have no idea how that happened.

Thanks! [8D]

Juramentado -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 7:50:35 PM)

@mgellis - use the USCG WHEC under the US Surface Ships and customize the weps/sensor fit to taste. That's what I do for the Philippine WHECs. I tend to ask for totally missing units to help out the DEV team. [:)]

mikmykWS -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 9:46:27 PM)

Wow big destroyer[:)] Updated and existing request on this one.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 10:02:24 PM)

Yes, that is a very suspiciously sized and shaped destroyer. [:D]

mattpenfold -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 10:12:57 PM)

No ski jump for the F35Bs ?

smudge56 -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 10:20:06 PM)

I thought they weren't allowed this type of ship?

mikmykWS -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 10:49:59 PM)

What kind of ship? Looks like a helicopter destroyer to me [:)]

I would say they the probably need to update their laws to match the need of the time. Japan does need to secure their energy routes which at this point could be threatened.

Juramentado -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/18/2013 11:44:15 PM)

It's my understanding that the elevators aren't big enough to accommodate an F-35B? So that illustration may be a bit...deceiving?

smudge56 -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/19/2013 10:30:03 AM)

Mike with tongue in cheek it looks like a carrier I suppose things ard more relaxed now a days as there allies again[;)]

are they thinking of building anymore?

hellfish6 -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/19/2013 7:58:56 PM)

IIRC the flight deck isn't rated to handle an F-35B's exhaust temperatures either. Not to say it couldn't be modified in the future, but not right now without melting through that flight deck.

According to Combat Fleets 1 more of these along with the 2 Hyugas.

Very much agree that it probably will not defuse tensions.

kieferpl -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/21/2013 1:06:36 AM)

F-15E with SLAM-ER loadout

Lnestig -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/21/2013 5:59:21 PM)

JAS 39C Gripen with RB107 Meteor loadout, from 2015-

smudge56 -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/21/2013 9:02:17 PM)

Mike nope this is certainly going to stir things up in the region. Suprise attack on pearl harbour [;)]

But seriously this is going to at least worry china.

mikmykWS -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/22/2013 12:55:07 AM)

Yeah bit of a naval arms race in the region.

Kyle Mizokami just published an interesting article on the rise of the South Korean Navy.

South Korea’s New Navy is Impressive … and Pointless

Lerxt -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/22/2013 7:05:24 AM)

Hi

Just wanted add a request for Indonesian Ships and Subs which has been mentioned before somewhere. Particularly,

Improved Chang Bogo class

Fast Missile Boat Kapal Cepat Rudal - KCR-60s

Nakhoda Ragam-class corvette

Thanks!

HudsonGame -> RE: Command Database Wish List (10/23/2013 7:14:13 AM)

I would like to have HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Warspite, HMS Valiant, HMS Malaya, HMS Nelson, HMS Rodney, HMS Royal Sovereign, and HMS Renown included in the database. They were all available after 1946 (though not much past). It would be interesting to have them included.[;)]
