adek670 -> issues with Down Town (9/30/2013 11:47:03 PM)

Guys,

I have faced three issues in the down town scenario.

1. The Escort function does not work as designed - surprised that the beta testers did not address this - think mentioned elsewhere. Essentially, the group doesn't form up together - the escorts don't act as escorts, they either trail or rtb out of fuel!

2. There are random refuel requests going in - planes with hours of fuel left suddenly going to refuel.

3. own units tgts everything on map!

I just finished the scenario:

-the escort function worked fine (i use a support mission to gather the strike forces and later i assign them to the land strike mission)
-Allied SEAD waste all ARMs on the radar (HARMs miss by 50-5 meters, SHRIKE miss by 7000 meters or more!) and dont return to base when winchester (keep flying on circles over the radar until out of fuel)
-Allied Land Strike groups doesnt RTB, they are all shoot down by AA

2. There are random refuel requests going in - planes with hours of fuel left suddenly going to refuel.

-It happened to me too.

escorts have failed to form up in brass drum too. If you have to use a workaround like setting up a strike mission first as a support mission, then clearly there is an issue here

I just can't understand how the beta testers were honestly praising the AI doing things by itself, with almost no micro-management needed. [&:]

Compared to Harpoon 3, the AI is a lot more useful, but there's still a lot of tasks it simply can't handle.
