aluminumx -> Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (10/1/2013 9:09:36 AM)

OK, guys. Something really must be done about the slow lagging response of the game. Seriously, there is a delay when clicking on many things. And that's with me on a good gaming computer, above the requirements needed for CMANO

It does not take much to start slowing the game down even more. For example, if I load two small counties with their airports SAMs, etc.... time inside the game slows down. You can actually take a clock and match it with the game clock and observe the time in game slows down to minus 3 seconds for every second in real life. When prior to that, time was synced up 1:1.

I sould note, that I can still run other programs with the game running at the same time, with no noticeable effect on them, while CMANO is sluggishsh. I even could run my game "Supreme Ruler: Cold war" (a game that runs more troops, air, naval, etc.... then CMANO does, with similar system demands/requirements) at the same time as CMANO, with no noticeable effect to it SR, only with CMANO. So I am doubtfull this has to do with my system, but with program its self. Perhaps the game engine. Or the way it access it's database. Whatever it is, this is need to realy be fixed. As it is really annoying.

My system specs:
Crosair HX650w power supply.
MSI277A-643 motherboard.
2x8GB DDR3 Viper ram (16GB total)
Geforce GTX660 2GB Video card.
Intel core I&-3770k 4 core.
With windows 8

Der Zeitgeist -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (10/1/2013 9:21:15 AM)

I did some tests on performance yesterday. Set up a medium sized SAG and a dozen or so Backfires attacking it. The game seems to handle the units themselves pretty well, even if I added a few hundred SAM sites, radars and stuff. Performance really went to hell however, when the battle started and dozens of radars and ECM systems started fighting the electromagnetic spectrum.

Guys, we've posted one of the beta builds that address performance issues here. Please give it a go and let us know of your impressions.

We are currently putting the finishing touches on v1.01, which is primarily oriented towards performance & stability, with a few highly-requested features also added.

Thanks!

Krasny -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (10/1/2013 10:29:37 AM)

There's also WAY too much clicking.

The UI needs an overhaul.

Dimitris -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (10/1/2013 10:35:19 AM)

Can you please point out which operations need too many clicks and how they could be improved?

Thanks!

Der Zeitgeist -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (10/1/2013 10:38:53 AM)

A hotkey for adding units in the editor would be a start. And the option to keep the "add unit" window with the filter selections that were selected when you last opened it. So it doesn't jump back to the default aircraft-selection which has to be changed to whatever you want to place in your scenario.

I will give it as shot tomorrow afternoon, and report back.

I agree with Sunburn. Repetitive clicking is annoying. For example, If I make a carrier group, and add air craft to my carrier, I must also add armorments and stuff like that so I can arm and rearm. When I go to do that I am confronted with so much stuff to add. Most of which is not somthing that goes on any of the aircraft I selected for my carrier. There is a options to filter out the other stuff, but it's not automatically selected. Now I doubt most people will load what they don't need, so the little filter button should already be checked as default. Especially when people will still be spending a great deal of time already going through the "wall of choice" for ammo type and amount, etc. good part is you can cheat as there is instant load button that does not require a ship (and perhaps works the same for land airwaves) to have the magazine in stock to load into the aircraft. Bad part is, when sharing a scenario, they may not like this.

Also, when window close, and I go back to them, they go back to default. This means, if I change the size or select the ships tab, it goes back to the air craft tab with the window returning to the default size. Annoying, needing to do that each time. Because chances are. When people start adding ships, buildings subs, they will add more then one. So starting back at default aircraft each time gets old fast.

And when ever zooming in, I find that it zooms to a point on the screen not what my mouse is over. So once I do this, I may lose what I was trying to zoom into see off screen, often resulting in more clicks (or zooming back out then back in), just to see what I wanted to zoom in to see. The zoom sould be anchored to the mouse poiner. Or at lest a option for it. Not to mention, zooming or moving the map around is not smooth. instead it's very jerky. Even when there is no units on the map.

Okay, we can have that checkbox enabled by default.

If you are adding the very same platform class more than one, there is an easier way: Select the first platform you added and press "C" to clone it.
I hear you on retaining last selected country etc. on the Add-Unit window.

We have added just such an option in v1.01.

Map UI performance (as well as core sim) has been substantially improved in v1.01. I think you will like this update.

Thanks for your feedback! This is exactly the detailed info we need to understand your needs and respond to them effectively.

I would hug you if the UI improves, Hell, I will do it because your on the ball with the zoom issue. Just one thing. It's about adding the ships. it's not just adding the same ship, but many kinds of ships under the ships tab. So selecting ships, subs, etc.... each time was what I was referring to . However, it seems like you already know this as mentioned, re selecting the country. Which is part of that. So you are probably already aware.

Dimitris -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (10/1/2013 8:32:13 PM)

Both your requests were added in Build 438.

In the scenario editor?

The insert key adds unit.

But why isn't this mentioned in the manual?

Just an example, when you wish to adjust the Radar, Sonar & OECM status of a unit you must CLICK on the Sensor button, then CLICK on the R/S/O checkbox, then CLICK on the confirmation popup. You need to do this on every group you wish to adjust, AND if you wish to adjust all three R/S/O statuses you have to go through the process three times. That's at worst NINE clicks per group.

Now I'm not a UI designer, but surely some kind of one right click on the unit would suffice. I'm not really au fait with Harpoon, but I do remember it's UI wasn't as clicky or immersion destroying.

If you want me to send in a detailed over-click analysis, please let me know.

F9 is hot key for sensors window. Just fyi

I have version 1.03 Final (Build 504) and the latest updates. My computer exceeds the minimum requirements and it lags really bad during game play. I’ve tried a game booster. I have adjusted the performance to let the game booster manage power. I’ve defragged, cleared caches etc.. I have also adjusted the performance set to max. I’d like to start playing online, but I’ll never have a fighting chance. I’ve read about a patch, but isn’t the patch older than the current version? I could really use some help please.
Thanks

AlmightyTallest -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (5/17/2014 1:53:19 AM)

There's been some performance tweeks since build 504, try using build 521 here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3601435

And see if that helps.

ComDev -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (5/17/2014 4:51:42 AM)

Are you playing with range rings ON? Try turning them off in large scenarios, or use the Selected Unit Only option for these. Thanks!

Are you still talking about CMANO, if so, that you are unable to play online has nothing to do with your computer and it's performances.... so far CMANO has no online mode.....[:-]

Hello,

1) Please make sure that you are running with the latest public version. Currently this Build 521, which you can get here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3601435

2) Can you please post a save file of the situation under which you are experiencing bad performance. There is always the chance that there exists a situation-specific speed bottleneck that we haven't yet come across.

Thank you.

trebor6669 -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (5/17/2014 10:33:33 AM)

All

I installed the latest .net framework available from Microsoft. while I still get the occasionally lock up, game performance has improved greatly.

And yes, I did install the version included with the Command disk.

Feltan -> RE: Sluggish and slow response. Needs fixing. (5/17/2014 11:29:17 AM)

Build 521 made a HUGE difference in stability and performance.

If you are reading this because you have those issues, please upgrade to the latest build first thing.

Regards,
Feltan

Feltran,

I was running Build 521 and still had major issues. The .net upgrade made a world of difference.

Everyone who helped me through the lagging problems. THANK YOU. I finally finished a game from start to finish. (After playing over 500 hours with no results.) I will start passing on any bug info i get to help smooth the game play out. Can't wait to play online. I hope the developers are trying to make online play possible if it isn't already.

Thanks again guys.
