YohanTM2 -> War in Europe pledges (1/17/2003 5:06:55 PM)

Decision Games is taking pledges (no cash just a commitment) for an update of the old SPI monster game War in Europe on the computer (they currently have a DOS version).

You can pledge at this site:

Computer WiE is #47

This is a good game if you play some of the modified rules and start with the 1940 scenario as I recall (otherwise France is a hedgehog)

Twotribes -> (1/17/2003 6:11:44 PM)

Yes I had it for a long time, but since I now have XP I never transfered it to this computer. DOS game that it is.

I pledged for it, )

cool, thanks

Yohan thanks for the link leting me find Decision Games (yes I was not aware of them).

Regarding your getting the brush off at BF, I suggest putting any links you deem of merit in your sig line eh.

That way every time you posts somewhere, you are getting a plug in for something of merit to you.

I pledged for this a few weeks back and I'd encourage others to pledge as well. The game mechanics are time tested from the venerable board version and the DOS version had a great interface. So this has, at least the potential, to be the definative European Theater WW2 game.

HannoMeier -> (1/21/2003 8:09:51 PM)

Even the DOS version is great I have completed several PBEM games with it. I have at least one game running since 1998!!!

Have a look at the demo at www.decisiongames.com

Oh man today sure is looking good, first the wife asks for it nice and early this morning, then I revisit Decision games and realise, "hey S&T as well as Wargamer magazines are still being produced".

Oh it sure looks like it will be a good day today.

Maybe I should see to playing some of my Lost Victories campaign as well, I might be able to finally polish off the current battle favourably hehe.

HannoMeier -> (1/26/2003 8:28:11 PM)

Hey Les (and others),

I even subscribe to Strategy & Tactics (with game), Against the Odds (with game) and other wargame magazines, like Paper Wars and Fire&Movement.

Board Wargames are still much alive. L2 Design Group just released the excellent new edition of Streets of Stalingrad (The city battle on company level - The Red Barricades factory is about 10 hexes large)

Your image implies that you are a Squad Leader veteran, right?

Regards,

Hanno

HELL YES SIGN ME UP!!

Hanno Meier

Yep I am something of an SL/ASL grognard.

Also likely can claim the title head annoying Matrix forum board gaming cause championer too hehe.

Although Matrix has a very active board gaming community (they are jus not as annoying about it as me hehe).

My icon was hand made for obvious reasons.

I could have graduated to "Matrix Hero" status long ago, but I liked the sound of my own identifier more.

SLAAKATTAK -> (1/28/2003 6:22:37 AM)

SARGE I HATE TO PEE IN YER FAN BUT A 9-1 LEADER IS NOT MUCH TO SNEEZE ABOUT. NOW WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GRADUATE TO AN 11-4 LEADER SUCH AS MYSELF THEN YOU MIGHT BE WORTHY TO TIE MY SHOES AND I PROMISE THAT I'LL RESPECT YOU IN THE MORNING AFTER. :p :p :p
SLAAKATTAK

CCB -> (1/28/2003 8:06:40 AM)

heh, somehow I get the feeling SLAAK is more like the dubious 6+1 leader. :p
