Anathema -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (12/25/2013 9:22:56 PM)

The Australian planned offshore combatants haven't even been ordered or paid for and no decision has been made to purchase the Austal design, so for example it could also end up being the National Security Cutter proposed by Hungtington Ingalls instead and we just don't know yet. The 2013 white paper also revised the planned purchase and instead of replacing the Armidale patrol boats, another existing design that is yet to be selected will replace them and then the planned offshore combatantant will replace that further into the future, presumably to save some money.

We also have a new conservative government who has declared the budget is in ruins and has not always been supportive of the Australian shipbuilding industry, espeicially when it comes to defence requirements and the debalce that is the Australian Submarine Corporation, so it also wouldn't surprise me if this project was delayed, scrapped or morphed into something entirely different, especially given border protection is a huge political issue here.

Hi team! I wanted to thank you for changes concerning the ships of the Italian navy, and ask if you could change the icon of the Cavour aircraft carrier, (as the ship is still normal). Finally, if you can add the database for the new naval gun Oto Melara 127/64, mounted on the FREMM and the German frigates F-125. Thank you again! [:)]

Sorry, wrong tread.

a more useful change might be adding the AN/TPS-77 in an Australian variant. At present, my 114MCRU (114th Mobile Control and Reporting Unit) has to use the US variant...

MKS 180 (Germany)

Not too much data available yet, but maybe enough for a preliminary entry in the DB3000?

I'm not sure if there are any major differences between the versions used by Sweden and the ones sold to other countries. It looks like a few of the weapons have been changed, though.

Hi Mark

Can you list the top 5 things you'll need in the near the future?

The data entry for this is far different than Harpoon and it can take hours to implement a single platform. Even copying units that seem 1:1 can be a little more time consuming as we must create unique engines, loadouts etc. for them as things often change. We will eventually get to all your requests but would just like to focus time on what you need for now.

Thanks!

Mike

Mgellis -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (12/29/2013 2:58:21 PM)

Sorry, Mike, I hope I wasn't overwhelming people. I was mostly just trying to find platforms that could be added someday and get them in the queue. I know it will take a while for most of them to get into the databases, but I figure if I don't at least tell people about them they will never get in. I'll try to focus on things I need sooner rather than later from now on, though.

I suppose if I was going to pick one thing, it would be the smaller combatants. One thing I really like about Command is that the detailed gun combat it provides lets you do a lot more with smaller navies, coast guards, etc. It opens up a huge range of possibilities for low intensity conflicts, police actions, etc. So, the more patrol boats, high speed response vessels, drug lord speedboats, OPVs, etc., the better!

As for five specific platforms...

Damen Stan 4207 patrol vessel
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damen_Stan_4207_patrol_vessel <-- there's like 40 of these in service in various places around the world; some sub-classes will probably have to be included

Hi

Found an error, Montenegro has PC-171 listed under ships.

The PC-171 „Biokovo“ is used by Croatia as OB-61 „Novigrad“ From 1991
The Croats should also have PC-176 „Mukos“ listed as OB-62 „Solta" From 1991
PC-180 „Cer“ as OB-63 „Cavtat“ From 1991
PC-181 „Durmitor“ as OB-64 „Hrvatska Kostajnica“ From 1991
all Mirna class

Montenegro is using
PC-174 „Ucka“ as P-01 „Bar“ From 2003
PC-178 „Kosmaj“ as P-03 „H.Novi“ From 2003
also all Mirna Class

Hi Baloogan

There should be a single unit Heliport, 100-450m airfield and possibly more that would work.

Let me know if it doesn't though and we'll get something in there.

Hey Mike, I completely lost track of this thread heh,

If it wouldn't be too much trouble Id like to get a 'just the pad' airbase unit.

Could we have B model Hornets for the Australians?

we do have 16 of them, and I would love to use them in a scenario that is upcoming.

I do note that D models are in the DB so I see no reason to avoid the B model... :D

Pretty sure we have a heliport and at least one airfield with a really small runway. Let me know if you need something more specific though.

#96 - SKR Riga [Pr.50 Gornostay] uses #2187 - 53-65K WH torpedoes, which is strange because these are only used against surface ships, being wake homing torpedoes. Ship's torpedo tubes (533mm Triple TT) also have no other default ordnance option.

I'm not expert enough to know which torpedo should be used in their place, but it seems like there are other options for ASW fish: the SET-53 and SET-53M, SET-65 "Enot-2", etc.

So I spent a while looking at Russian sources, it took a while but once I found sources that included later modifications the ship class adopted use of 53-65K anti-ship torpedoes in 1969 - the export ships were provided the export version of the torpedo.

It was an either/or thing 2 53-65s or 3 SET-65s

quote:

Everywhere I read when they carried TTA (triple torpedo apparatus) they carried ASW torps and DTA (Double) they carried ASuW torps.

But looking closer, the CWDB has the 1954 version of the class having 2x 533 Triple Torpedo tubes. Here is a line drawing of the class as it was in 1954:

[image]http://mlib.rostel.ru/sections/mkonst/2003_escort/mk2004-05.jpg[/image]

Note only the one apparatus. It was driving me crazy trying to find a clear picture with the DTA but found plenty of documentation on the upgrade.

It appears in practice though, what DB3K has (for the Soviets) is correct other than the triple TT. The ships carried ASuW torpedoes as a rule. It was either/or and they sailed with the ASuW fish, probably says a lot abut the role they were used in by 1969. Again this only refers to the Soviet ships.

Both DBs have Pegasus-2 on the class it was upgraded to Pegasus-3M in 1959-1960.

Could I get a unit with one AircraftFacility: 1x Pad (1x Large Aircraft)

The Single-Unit Airfield (Heliport) has 10x Hangar (8x Medium Aircraft) and 4 pads and 4 runway access points; I'd like to get a unit with one 1x Pad if possible.

Plus for North Korea, roughly 450 A/C in their OOB are of the following (absolutely obsolete) classes:
An-2 Colt (or Y-5 Chinese copy)
Mi-2
Mi-4 (or the Z-5 Chinese copy)

Would the landing zone unit work?

I'll add a a smaller version of it but its probably what you're looking for.

Will add requests for the rest.

gsmith63 -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (1/2/2014 4:36:45 AM)

This is my third post. I should have started the first by saying that this game is absolutely outstanding, and the support from the CMANO team is probably the best I’ve ever seen. BZ! Now on to business:

I’ve noticed that there are a number of inaccuracies with later units of the US Ticonderoga-class cruisers. For all the sub-variants from CG 52 (USS Bunker Hill) through CG 70 (USS Lake Erie), DB3000 has incorrect figures from 2010 onwards.

Starting in 2009 all surviving units of the Tico class are being modernized to a common baseline under the Cruiser Modernization Program. The basic changes are as follows:
*SPY-1B(V) vice SPY-1A or -1B.
*SPS-49 removed.
*SPQ-9A replaced with SPQ-9B.
*SQS-53A or -53B replaced with SQS-53C .
*SQR-19 replaced with SQR-20 Multi-Function Towed Array (Besides being a regular towed array sonar, the SQR-20 significantly increases range of the active SQS-53C by operating as a bi-static receiver through the SQQ-89A(V)15 system).
*SLQ-32(V)3 replaced with SLQ-32A(V)3.
*61-cell Mk 41 VLS launchers replaced with 64-cell launchers (removal of reloading cells).
*Added ability to carry ESSM, SM-3, and (when available) SM-6.
*Mk 45 Mod 1/2 guns replaced with Mk 45 Mod 4 5-in 62 caliber guns and new GFCS.
*CIWS brought up to Mk 15 Block 1B standard.
*Mk38 Bushmaster 25mm cannons replaced with much improved Mk38 Mod 2.
*4x Mk 53 Nulka decoy launchers added if not already carrying them.
*Cooperative Engagement Capability added.

Modifications to CG 52-58 have already been completed. All US CGs not scheduled for decommissioning are being similarly modified at a rate of ~2-3 per year.

I guess I'm not allowed to post links yet or I would include some with additional details and references. Rag or Mike you can contact me via e-mail if you need more info.

Cheers!

Gregg

SuaveWatermelon -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (1/3/2014 3:31:23 AM)

Howdy

First post on forum

Enjoying this game but I feel some things need to be looked at in terms of load outs for aircraft

For Singapore:

Nothing in DB under Singapore is capable of firing GBU-10s, GBU-16s, GBU-31s, GBU-38s, or GBU-54s

Singapore has AIM-120C-7s but nothing uses them in game

Singapore also has AGM-154A/C JSOWs that it can't use because Singapore's aircraft in game don't have any load outs that use them

Missing non Blk 52+ F-16Ds for Singapore (they have 32 of them)

Nothing under Singapore can use Harpoons despite the fact Singapore uses them

F-5S/T in real life can fire AIM-120s but in game they cannot

Singaporean aircraft also cannot use AGM-65D/Gs in game (they can in real life)

For the F-35:

Currently missing Israeli F-35I which is supposed to have special Israeli electronics

F-35s are supposed to be capable of firing LRASMs, AGM-158B JASSM-ERs, AGM-88C/E HARM/AARGMs but they cannot in game

currently missing Joint Strike Missile from DB (Kongsberg missile that can fit inside F-35A/C internal bays (not the B model's bays though because its bays are too short, but can still fit them on wing pylons))

Also F-35Cs are supposedly going to be able to launch AGM-84K SLAMER ATAs

For the USA:

None of the F-16s are capable of firing Harpoons. In real life, blocks 20 through 52 could mount them

If adding all of this stuff is too much to ask I apologize, but it is a bunch of stuff that would make me (and I imagine a lot of others) very happy).

I would post links to all of this stuff, but for some reason the automation on this forum won't let me. (something like "you cannot post links until 7 days after 10th post")

SuaveWatermelon -> RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues (1/3/2014 3:32:44 AM)

Also i might add that F-35s can also use AGM-65s

actually, they require a special adapter to be fitted which uses the maverick video interface to talk with the SMS computer. blocks 20 and onwards can be made capable of employing harpoons, but this is actually a fairly rare modification.

quote:

Greece: HAF F-16 Block 52 aircraft armed with AGM-84 Harpoons were test-flown at Edwards AFB
Israel: The IDF/AF is very likely to have Harpoon capability, but this is unconfirmed
Oman: The RAFO purchased 20 missiles for its F-16 Block 50 fleet
South Korea: The RoKAF Block 52 aircraft are Harpoon-capable, no confirmed missile purchase
Taiwan: The RoCAF purchased 54 missiles for its F-16 Block 20 aircraft
Turkey: The TUAF purchased 50 Harpoon missiles for their CCIP-upgraded F-16 Block 50 aircraft
United Arab Emirates: The UAEAF's block 60 aircraft are Harpoon capable, and 52 missiles were purchased at the time of the Block 60 deal

would be nice to add the Pilatus PC-21 trainer aircraft too, for the RSAF (Singapore)

Not sure if this was already posted in this thread but Japan is missing some planes:
C-130H
UH-60J
MH-53E
YS-11EB
RF-4E
F-15DJ
F-2B

I know some planes can be sourced from other countries, but would be nice if they could be get an entry for Japan in the database too.
