I noticed that Finnish airplanes needs a lot of work as there are errors and omissions. I've done some work to add them to Admiralty Trilogy board game and ready stuff is posted in my blog http://tiikki.blogspot.fi/.

There you find

DC-2 up to three until 56.
Anson I one survived war and was used until 47.
Fouga Magister total 80 were used from 1958 to 80's
Draken S/SX version should be similar to Swedish F2 not F1 as the stats are, number of tanks vs missiles in load outs is also questionable.
Il-28 3 of aircraft were R-models and fourth was regular. None were used for bombing and all were used for target towing and naval recon. They are missing radars and so are soviet ones too.
MiG-21F-13 First ones arrived 63 not 65 and last one removed from service 86. Also some were locally modified to MGT (T=Tiedustelu=Recon). MGT had High Fix removed and only those had recon pod capability. On armament side I'm unsure of actual Finnish standard loads.

Other errors in the database:

MiG-21BIS were received after 1979 so they should not be on this database.
As far as I know none of four captured PO-2 were used after 1945.
Mi-1 were used by Border Guard and Air Force, not army and there were 4 of them and used between 61-67 and they were polish SM-1 versions.
Mi-4 were used by Air Force, not army and there were 3 of them
Mi-8P were used by Air Force, total 2, received 78 or 79
Mi-8T were used by Air Force, total 4, received 73/74

Missing aircraft:

Vampire Trainer Mk55 (9 of them and there were 6 of fighter versions, there was some Finnish modifications on these)
    Folland Gnat Mk.1 (13 from 58 to 74)
    DC-3 (9 from 60 to 84)
DHC-2 Beaver (3 in Air Force use from 58 to 71 and 3 used by Border guard from 51 to 88)
    Pembroke C.Mk53 (2 in use from 56 to 68)
    MiG-15UTI (4 in use from 62 to 77)
    MiG-21U/UM (total 6)
Agusta Bell 206A (1 in use of Air Force from 68 to 79 and 7 used by Border Guard from 68 to 2011)
    S.E.3130 Alouette II 313B (2 in use from 66 to 75 + 1 in use by Border Guard from 65 to 76)
    Hughes 369HS, 369HM and 369D total 5 received 1975 (most likely 3 500C models and 2 500D models)

And thank you for your hard work

Hi thanks I will be pushing out an updated DB early next year

Ekaton -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (1/6/2017 4:25:59 PM)

If I'm not mistaken, the Saab 32 Lansen did not have rockets in the first years of its service. I am now trying to create a 1959 Swedish scenario and I can only equip it with the rockets used from the 1960s. Could you add internal guns setting?

Dysta -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (2/6/2017 4:07:17 AM)

EDIT: Found it on CWDB

#468
- USS United States [CVA-58] (1949) - Coventional Power Bomber Carrier - Hypothetical

A suggestion: what about replacing 3x open parking (large) with 1x open parking (very large), so to allow one (not two, consider it need to take off) really massive strategic aircraft lands on the deck? Added with something like a 'rocket assist runway' for it to take off.

Of course the very large aircraft is still no way to fit inside the hangar, but without the control tower, the flush top will make the possibility of STOL much easier than this:

[image]http://www.snopes.com/photos/airplane/graphics/b52carrier.jpg[/image]

From artist's impression, the centerline can be used as a runway:

[image]http://www.militaryfactory.com/ships/imgs/uss-united-states-cva58.jpg[/image]

What it needed is a JATO-capable version of CVA-58, removed fore and stern armaments to clear a way for centerline STOL.

This could be a perfect match with B-47 JATO:

Specs are inside this link:

----

#2305, #2306, #2307, #2308, #2309 - CWDB's HMS Malta

It should be marked as hypothetical, I've tried to filter it but still appear in real-life list.

----

Could you add 'SS-N-1 Scud-a' in CWDB/DB3000 as well? It's designed for weapon trials to launch from Golf-class submarines, before Sark is in service.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scud 'SS-N-1 Scud A (1955) (R-11FM, KN-11 relative?)'

And, there are several missing Armored and Artillery platoons for China in CWDB.

Eggstor -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (2/7/2017 10:01:47 PM)

Several classes of LSDs, specifically the first 3 US classes, have a mismatch between fuel consumption and fuel storage causing them to run out of fuel inside of a day's cruise:

LSD 1 Ashland (both versions - DB #1181 and #1648), LSD 13 Casa Grande (all versions - #1649, #482, #797 and #798), L 31 Galica (#1687, ex-USS San Marcos, Casa Grande-class - also misspelled, should be Galicia), and LSD 28 Thomaston (#47, #810 and #811 only):
- Fuel consumption: Creep 33.44 kg/min, Cruise 37.16 kg/min, Full 70.6 kg/min, Flank 139.35 kg/min
- Fuel storage: 50 tons oil fuel

Also, the A 646 Foudre (#537, ex-HMS Oceanway, Casa Grande-class) has a more-drastic mismatch:
- Fuel consumption: Creep 33.44 kg/min, Cruise 37.16 kg/min, Full 70.6 kg/min, Flank 139.35 kg/min
- Fuel storage: 40 tons oil fuel

Fixes for all of these appear to be in (mostly) foreign variants of the three classes already in the database, though they reflect 2 differing approaches to fuel consumption.

Q 43 Cándido de Lasala (#2377 - ex-USS Gunston Hall - Ashland-class):
- Fuel consumption: Creep 33.44 kg/min, Cruise 37.16 kg/min, Full 70.6 kg/min, Flank 139.35 kg/min
- Fuel storage: 2750 tons oil fuel

L 132 Nafkratoussa (#328 - ex-USS Fort Mandan - Casa Grande-class, an extra "s" is in the name in both the CWDB and DB3000):
Fuel consumption: Creep 0.9 kg/min, Cruise 1 kg/min, Full 1.51 kg/min, Flank 2.02 kg/min
Fuel storage - 60 tons oil fuel

LSD 28 Thomaston (#812 - 1978-1990 version)
Fuel consumption: Creep 16.03 kg/min, Cruise 17.82 kg/min, Full 46.33 kg/min, Flank 96.16 kg/min
Fuel storage - 1390 tons oil fuel

No problems these fixes will show in the next DB release

polo199 -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (2/18/2017 8:20:12 PM)

Very minor one but aircrafts #3205 and #3206 are the exact same ones: Indonesian Ki-43 IIIb. Would make sense to change 3205 to Ki-43 II-KAI which was in use in Indonesia too, post WWII.
Ki-43 II-KAI:
*10% slower
*Single drop tank
*Can carry 2*250kg bombs (not sure).
*2x12.7mm (in lieu of 2x20mm)
See Wikipedia and wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/b/768/79/0#1 for refs.

Also, would be nice to add P-63 King-Cobras to the DB as these were used by France till '51 (Algeria and Indochina) and by Honduras till '60s. USSR was still using it post-WWII too. Nice plane which can do some damage on the ground (37mm canon + up to 1500lbs bomb load).

JCR -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (3/18/2017 2:00:59 PM)

I posted it as a seperate thread but might be more appropriate here:

The early CWDB british subs are not recharging their batteries.
I tested the A, S and T classes, both the variants with Snorkel and without. They go to snorkel depth allright but then simply run on diesel while not recharging batteries and spamming the "has run out of fuel, switching to alternate" message infintely.
The later subs like Porpoise are not affected.

I suppose the problem is the "A/S/T/U/V" diesel and electric propulsion systems shared by all these subs.

One other thing I noticed.
The Tu-16Z Badger A tanker cannot refuel other planes, as it lacks a centerline drogue refuelling system.

JCR -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (3/26/2017 2:20:44 PM)

One thing I found:
The "Green Parrot NDC" loadout of the Supermarine Scimitar is fictious, there apparently was no nuclear weapon code named Green Parrot

Broncepulido -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (3/26/2017 4:04:23 PM)

"Green Parrot" is apparently a doubtious designation dragged by years (because lack of historical disclosure).
It probably should be "Red Beard", carried both by Scimitar and Canberra.

Could we perhaps get single-unit ports for CWDB? Seem to only be available in DB3000 for now!

Also, would it be possible to add the Avia S-92, the Czechoslovakian Me-262, and its trainer variant, the CS-92? Final retirement was in 1951.

Eggstor -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (5/4/2017 10:41:11 PM)

A few issues with various F-8 Crusader variants:

- The first version of the F-8E(FN) (1964) has the AN/APQ-94 radar installed in the CWDB. It shipped with the AN/APQ-104 radar to guide the SARH version of the R.530 AAM.
- The AN/APQ-104 radar on the 1976 and 1988 versions of the F-8E(FN) as well as the RF-8G and the Phillipine version of the F-8H (this also pertains to the DB3000 versions) is listed as a range-only radar with a 8-nm range. Given it was a variant of the AN/APQ-94 radar, it probably should have a similar performance to the -94, especially since it was designed to guide the 16-nm range R.530.
- Speaking of the Phillipine version of the F-8H (again, both the CWDB and DB3000 versions), it most likely shipped with the same AN/APQ-94 radar that the USN/USMC F-8H had before the transfer to the Phillipines.
- I doubt the RF-8G had any radar installed as the RF-8As that were rebuilt to the -G standard had no radar.

Minor tweak - can we reduce the available datalink channels on #1000353 - AJ.168 Datalink Pod? It should only be able to guide 1 Martel at a time.

I am doing a Scenery focused in the context of the Green March of 1975. Operation Trapecio (Trapezoid) was the spanish military plan to defend Western Sahara from Moroccan invasion.

For this reason I need the following units:

AN/TPS-43C (spain) x1 It's not in the database.
Mirage IIIEE. Data here.
Nike-Hercules SAM (16 missiles). x1 1960

North American T-6D (Armed) x81 1959 Named C.6 in spanish service. Conversion in service since 1959
With 2 Breda-SAFAT 7,7 mm Machine guns (From FIAT CR-32) second seat was removed and a fuel tank of 175 liters was added in his place.

There are 5 loadouts
Loadout B1: 2 Pilatus rocket launcher with 2 80 mm Oerlikon rockets per launcher and 2 hardpoints INTA BL-1 for 10 GPB of 10 kg each.
Loadout B2: 2 Pilatus rocket launcher with 2 80 mm Oerlikon rockets per launcher and 2 hardpoints INTA BL-1 for 30 grenades of 81mm each.
Loadout C: 6 Pilatus rocket launcher with 2 80 mm Oerlikon rockets per launcher
Loadout F1: 2 Pilatus rocket launcher with 2 80 mm Oerlikon rockets per launcher and 2 Alkan H-261 hardpoints for one 50 kg GPB
Loadout F2: 2 Pilatus rocket launcher with 2 80 mm Oerlikon rockets per launcher and 2 Alkan H-261 hardpoints for one MATRA 181 rocket launcher with 18 SNEB 37 mm rocket

US material was not possible to use in Spanish Sahara against Morocco, because US political weapon exports issues.
Also were employed, in previous disputes, very peculiar platforms, as CASA He-2111 and diverse variants of Buchon (Me-109 airframe with Merlin and other engines). Only AMX-30, no M-47 or M-48 were deployed in Sahara.

There are a lot of confussion about that. Some people still think that EF-18 (F/A-18A+ bought in FACA program 1983-1990) have use restrictions and its completely false.

Spain obtained US military equipment from the US-Spanish Agreements and from France. First US-Spanish agreement was signed in 1953. A High percent of the US military equipment provided during 1953 agreement was transferred, so the equipment transferred by USA had use restrictions.... But also in Ifni's War, Spain used US Military equipment bought directly from USA and also bought from France (M3A1, M-8, M-24, S-55, Hu.16 Albatross...) without any use restriction.

Later agreements, signed in 1963, 1970, 1976, 1982 and 1988 shown a constant decrease in Equipment transference (spanish economic boom was in the 60s).

There two interesting examples. First of all is the case of the T-6D (armed).
70 T-6D and 70 T-6G were transferred from USAF to Spain under 1953 agreement. These aircrafts cannot be armed, only can be used as a Trainers or non offensive actions.

But, as you can see in one of the pictures I posted, in 1957 (inmediately after Ifni's War), Spain started to modify a T-6D to carry weapons. The Prototype used was 1 of the 70 T-6D tranferred, but only for tests. When the conversion was feasible, Spain bought 70 T-6D (and Navy versions) from Private companies. The last batch of 11 aircrafts was provided by Armeè de l'Air in 1965 without any restriction.

Second interesting example is the case of the 21 TF/F-104C Starfighters. 18 F-104G Starfighters and 2 TF-104G were transferred from USAF in 1965 under MAP (1963 Agreement). Spanish Air Force requested an additional Two-Seat Starfighter but it was denied by USA, so Spain bought a TF-104G directly from Lockheed. In 1972 these aircrafts returned to his propietary, USAF, and they sent some to Turkey and others to Jordania with the exception of the TF-104G bought directly from Lockheed.

M-48A1, SF-5A/B, AH-1G, UH-1H, C-130H and M-109 and more equipment also were bought by Spain and not transferred, so they have not any use restriction and it was used in Spanish Sahara in 1974-1975.

Dont worry I am doing an extensive reseach of the Orbat, so at least, the Spanish order of battle will be accurate. About the Moroccan OrBat I am still searching.

Can I request an addition weapon/loadout?

I was wondering if it might be possible to add a hypothetical Skybolt weapon and the appropriate loadouts for both the B52 and the Vulcan B.Mk2?

Skybolt was a US Air Launched Ballistic Missile intended to extend the service life of the B52/V-Force by allowing bombers to strike Soviet targets without penetrating Soviet Airspace.
The planned loadout for the B52 fleet was 4 weapons , mounted underwing, the Vulcan B2 was 2 weapons again underwing.

    Gen Data:
    Length 11.66m
    Span .89m
    Diameter .89m
    Launch Weight 5000kg
    Cruise Height 482800m
    Cruise Speed 9500mph
    CEP 700m
    Climb Rate 3000m/s
Warhead 1MT W59 RV (W56 in database ID1000782 could be subsituted)

    Properties
    Ballistic Missile (ICBM/IRBM/RSBM)
    Weapon INS Navigation
    Warhead Single RV
    Level Cruise Flight
    Propulsion

    ICBM RV/MR/MIRV Re-entry
    Fuel
    3165kg

    Loadouts

The B52 loadout would be four weapons, looking at existing loadouts for the B52 Fleet, I would estimate that the B52 /AGM-28 Hound dog load out would be a pretty good measure for the B52s range/combat readiness times ect its Loadout ID: 1007654 as although skybolt and houndog are broadly the same weight, the B52 with 4 Skybolt wouldn’t be carrying gravity bombs or quail decoys.

The Vulcan loadout is trickier, looking at the loadouts for Vulcan, I would suggest Loadout 1001473 would be a good facsimilie, the weight of two Skybolts is 10000kg, the weight of 21x454kg bombs is 9543kg, so even if you want to knock off 150nm in range to account for the extra weight and parasitic drag, that would be a sensible estimate of the Vulcans range.
If theres anything I have missed or I can add any info to further getting skybolt added to CMNAO am only too happy to help.

    Butch

    Will do on requests

    CCIP-subsim -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 Platform Requests (5/24/2017 9:25:14 PM)

Just to check: does CWDB not have cargo loadouts enabled? Every aircraft I've tried so far has 0 capacity (even if it's DB3000 equivalent is able to carry/unload units just fine).

Hi cargo loadouts are in hand for the CWDB
