CyrusSpitama -> LSD and LSTs- Japan (10/19/2013 9:38:41 PM)

There was a recent thread I glanced at regarding landing ships I intended to question but instead I shall make a new thread with very direct questions/comments.

From reading the various threads I assume I have found the best usage for my LSD/LSTs. Keep in mind this is from Japan's point of view so exclude/differentiate your answer if they are Allied specific for the benefit of others.

For my early LSDs, I should add them to a fleet once it has loaded its supplies and/or troops. Only the empty LSD assists other ships.

Later my LSTs will perform similarly, but with a lesser effect.

Corrections/clarifications?

Personally I load my LSDs. They unload quickly.

Yes, an empty LSD is a waste of resources. Load it as well. It will unload quickly and then assist the others. After the invasion bonus goes away these are vital ships. Unfortunately Japan never has enough.

Thanks for the responses. I will test both unloaded and loaded with the LSD(s). I had assumed (perhaps wrongfully so) that the LSD assisting ALL ships unloading at the target would be more beneficial than missing that first turn of unloading bonus while it emptied itself.

To further clarify this LSD/T bonus: If the LSD has supplies still on board, does it give the fleet its unloading bonus or must it wait till it is fully empty?
