Good idea, but it needs to be allowed by the graph file system. If you consider the organuzation graph files of SC Global conflict (and others in the SC serie), it will not be possible because there is only one national symbol graph for each country and it is not coupled with the status of unit powers.

You've got Hubert's ear, he's the coder, convince him in the premise.

IMO the more info we can get on the counters, no matter how subtle, the effect should be increased game play efficiency, less clicking and scrolling.

Now for aesthetics, it would be nice to see some form of unit ID on the counters related to a user "name change". In this manner the owning player could keep his army groups/task forces in some recognized visual organization refenced by a number or letter or both. Actually with the HQ support status, there may be a case for "functionality" as well, removing the "click" on the HQ to see the highlight attachment.

Well, If I had to have Hubert's any part, it is not the ear that I would choose but the coin purse [:D]

SeaMonkey -> RE: New Screen (11/13/2013 6:34:02 PM)

I hear that, but to get to that rather guarded object, we may have to proceed through the less intimidating route.[;)]

Are you the same Welk that created the Great War scenario for Imperialism 1? [X(]

winky51 -> RE: New Screen (11/15/2013 3:06:18 AM)

Wow these look great. I'd put 1 plane on the CVL counter so it's absolutely clear its a carrier.

AlvaroSousa -> RE: New Screen (11/15/2013 3:08:52 AM)

counters look good add 1 CV plane to the CVL to distinguish from other ships

Yes but I am not the designer of this imp scenario : I just rectified a mlistake in and updated it (i,itial creator had forgotten to compile and include the needed scen.file)

New possible look, more clear and more "minimalist" classic wargame

The most I can approach the map model will be for me the best

Selection tools graphs will be replaced by new graphs I made or I founded on the web (HQ rattachment symbols, unit selction symbol and attack symbol, etc)

I want that my copy of the game looks like that, at great strategic scale :

SeaMonkey -> RE: New Screen (11/20/2013 6:52:14 PM)

Excellent presentation, if you could approach the map graphics. Now wouldn't it be great if you could group a number of units behind a front marker that would represent their directional deployments and have them reflect the combined arms in the combat algorithm(or their "users" orders)? I know.....that's for the coder to develop[8D], but that "front marker" could also reflect a number of different orientations(offensive-defensive) of the group through its(front-marker) visual configurations.

Something for future wargame developers to think about.[;)]

geozero -> RE: New Screen (12/8/2013 12:17:09 AM)

Excited about the game... not impressed with the map and graphics though.

Magpius -> RE: New Screen (12/8/2013 8:40:12 AM)

Geo, I'm pretty sure these screens are little more than musings by one very keen modder. I suspect the vanilla release will look more like SC2, and that more than enough mods will be available shortly afterwards.

Agent S did some beautiful things for Time of Fury.

I did a few of my own modifying other people's work. It was a hoot and I hope we can do it for this simulation also.

AlvaroSousa -> RE: New Screen (12/12/2013 6:16:10 PM)

Resources should be distinguished from the rest. As is I find them difficult to scan across the map. Perhaps reduce the size of the resources and put a circle around them with a light color, like brown for resource, black/blue for oil.

For armies you would use a slightly larger symbol with XXXX on it. Might work, might not.

Magpius -> RE: New Screen (12/13/2013 5:03:18 AM)

I'll certainly be putting up some mods once the game is out.
SC1 was one of my all time favourites!
