ralphtricky -> Patch news (3.5) (11/9/2013 2:27:33 PM)

Patch 3.5 is being actively developed again. We're making some good progress, and I'm hoping we can release it in the January-March time frame.

Two big items are a more complete Naval model and more units, etc. to allow for larger map sizes.

More detail will follow.

shunwick -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (11/9/2013 7:28:21 PM)

Ralph,

Awesome.

Best wishes,
Steve

Telumar -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (11/9/2013 9:58:55 PM)

Ralph, maybe a statement wether 3.5 will be available as a public beta before its official release?

That would make sense to make sure that nothing major got broken. I'll check with Matrix as we get closer to release.

... a more complete Naval model ...

Awesome! That will fix the game's biggest flaw right there.

Best wishes.

This will include submarine warfare or should we wait until v 4.0 will be ready?

Oberst_Klink -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (11/10/2013 8:00:01 AM)

Hola Jose!

Don't open a can of worms. Subs and Heavy Bombers are strategic weapons, not operational :) I hope the focus is on supply and the combat system first, no? ;)

InuharikoMu -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (11/10/2013 8:05:56 AM)

How far is the Patch developed?
Just just would like to know if there is a chance for an Open Beta version over the holidays.

secadegas -> Known bug? (12/29/2013 11:54:42 AM)

I found a bug that i never heard before. It's not a major one but probably it's a good opportunity to deal with it.

The bug is: Player 2 (P2) formations under static order never activate when attacked or enemy moving adjacently while P1 formations under static order react activating all units from formation as expected.

However P2 formations under static order do normally react to turn or event activation as should be.

I tested thoroughly using both new turn order rules on and off and different TOAW 3 versions. I also tested combining several related events (formation orders) to be sure that engine progamed events didn't percede over other activation triggers. The results were all similar. Couldn't test with previous TOAW versions because i don't have them no more.

From manual: "Static (was Reserve): Units belonging to the formation are not available for orders until the formation is activated. Activation occurs on a specific turn (set in the editor) or when the enemy attacks or moves adjacent to any unit of the formation. When activated, the formation assumes a defend order."

Sensei.Tokugawa -> RE: Known bug? (12/30/2013 8:17:31 AM)

I have such situation in my Bob Cross' "Campaign for North Africa" (complete)PBEM - South African infantry division which is supposed to be training prior to be sent to the front down south of Cairo is still unavailable even though the Axis forces attempted in vain to cross the canal right next to them - but I am assuming that this is a different case as this situation is handled by the event editor. On the other hand an Iraqi armoured division in Salamon's Iran-Iraq War 198- 88 which was supposed to activate round turn 80 went into action due to the abortive Iranian amphibious landing or seaborne reconnaissance. Dunno - in the other one Iraq is the first one to go so that's another story I think

Excellent [8D]

Can you guys put all of Boonierat's Vietnam Combat Operations scenarios in the next patch please? [:)]

Kuokkanen -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (1/15/2014 3:24:48 PM)

Could it be possible to set nav-points for aircraft forces? Could come handy with avoiding strong AA units.

Actually, only AAA in the target hex (or within AAA range of it) participates in the combat. So you don't have a reason to go around AAA on the pathway. (That's an issue, of course. But until it's addressed, there's no need for waypoints). Same for AS too.

Is there all some news about the progress and features?

It waiting is like a title of a Great War movie.

It's all quit on the TOAW front [:)]

Sertorius1 -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (1/19/2014 4:31:32 PM)

One thing I hope to see would be the ability to break down a battalion into four line companies like the British used. This would work for WWI brigades as well for regiments.

All in all, very good.

Think that's gonna have to be added to the wishlist for TOAW IV - current code for III is pretty limited on how much can be done.

Now, to get this patch done\released, so Ralph (et al) can get to work on IV.... Time to queue the Pointer Sisters ("I'm so excited")? [:D]

BigDuke66 -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (2/9/2014 12:49:02 AM)

I see some new threads regarding AI & UI by Ralph and I wonder if that all should go into 3.5.
I hope not because I'm greedy for a quick patch that concentrates on the big bugs so we can play this game again, I'm sure a lot put a hold on playing it with the current problems(AA & the Ignore Losses bug).

And is't all possiple to list new features?

BigDuke66 -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (2/24/2014 2:39:36 PM)

I would already be happy with a release YEAR.

Telumar -> RE: Patch news (3.5) (2/24/2014 9:22:30 PM)

2014 :)

Patience, my young Padawan.
