Hard?...Hard?....understatement.

Marginal Loss first scenario..Marginal Loss second scenario (this one was a killer, well bothare)

However check my 68 kill Tank Unit..

Far from easier..desperate and scary! No wargame creates the same tension this one does..praying your kill ratio is good enough..every exchange a nail biter! I've only played the Allies so far as I find the tension of firefights and knowing every loss hurts and hurts bad is superb. I imagine the Russian side feels totally different, the constant casualties probably feel draining.

No, the new campaign is a release for the holidays.

There is a scheduled update for week after next I believe. The campaign is independent of that.

I managed a "Contested" on the first battle, but it was brutal.

Since you guys are now experienced veterans the battles are a bit tougher to win. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it...[X(]

Contested!!?? Well done mate. I was finished off when a hind unit wiped out a fresh tank platoon who was driving up as a reenforcement on a Obj. It then went on to take out all 6 sub units of an Inf unit..the loss of the Tank platoon was a killer though..it hadn't even fired a shot in anger.

I also made an error at the start of scenario concentrating my forces in the wrong area..so the Russkies got the Obj's very very quick and it steadily got worse.

Yeah, I sort of let them have the objective, then played Kesselschlacht for bit. Shooting fish in a barrel...only the fish shot back!

Yeah, Kesselschlacht is one of my favorite games. Except, as you said, the fish shoot back and it doesn't always work out to my advantage!!!

Contested for me. It was ugly at first, when I stumbled into their forces. I finally got good firing positions but didn't have the combat power to take back the objectives.

And I owe my survival to these guys:

FINALLY! Found some good ground to fight on! My first decisive success! Took a toll on my fources though... 18%.

Since this is rapidly becoming a comparison of results, here are the results I got, when I played through the campaign, the last time.

That one change of command was me getting killed!! [:@]

* Your force has claimed 13 Recce, 90 Tank, 50 APC, 33 Inf, 4 AT, 37 HQ, 13 AD, 6 Arty and 38 Utility enemy subunits.

* Remaining force tally -
Active: 8 Recce, 16 Tank, 20 APC, 15 Inf, 7 SP AT, 23 HQ, 3 AD, 12 SP Arty and 23 Utility.
Fallen out: 12 Tank, 3 APC, 6 Inf and 2 SP AT.
Destroyed: 10 Tank, 6 APC and 3 SP AT.

* By the end of the battle your units had a 93% average readiness and a command cyle duration of 19 minutes.

Omg, In the first scenario I lost the whole 2/151st Pz Bn + Battalion HQ during the first two hours of the battle so I had no other choice but to pull back to fight another day..

That can happen in any of the scenarios or campaigns. The original scenarios/campaigns were light weights in retrospect. I was making maps and scenarios as the code was being tweaked and features being added. The scenarios are a progression of battles that, for the most part, show off different facets of the game as they move along. [8D]

Now that we have that all behind us and everyone, including me, has much more experience we should be able to create scenarios/campaigns that are much more challenging to you as gamers. [&o]

This campaign is an attempt at creating a more challenging situation for you. Time will tell how well I've done.

I love this game. Or should I say 'I hate this game!' [;)]

This campaign is hard.

I thought I was doing OK until I got to scenario 5. I've been trying to play each scenario just once before proceeding, but in this scenario I've had my rear-end handed to me on a platter twice! And so bad were my losses I couldn't continue.

The first time I had Soviet boot-marks up my front as I went one way and they went the other.

The second time I had Soviet boot-marks up my back as I just ran out of units and ammo.

Hmm, back to the drawing board....

This campaign was playtested to be harder than those that were included in the game. We all have more experience with the game now...[sm=innocent0009.gif]
